Who is the new, young woman on the show? She was at the wedding,and was determined to seal the getaway car. Is she related? Living with them? I find her absolutely annoying. I hope she isn't a keeper.JMHO.

meowee--I believe they buy only or mostly used. I've actually had good luck finding nice dresses and skirts at our local thrift store. I think nowadays a lot of people view dresses as more for dress-up, so they get worn very little. I can destroy a denim skirt in a few months.

I have been collecting dresses to be prepared if God gives us a little girl. I go on .99c days and pick out one or two that are good quality. Some are fancy church dresses (which I *love* ) but most are just your basic jumper or knit dress. I knew a family with 5 girls who also only shopped thrift stores. They'd built up a huge number of dresses by the time the younger girls were born.

In their book Michelle says the exception to their used clothing rule was that the older gilrs like to sew a lot of their own clothes and Michelle's. I think even if they bought some new they would still get a ton of use out of the clothing since there are so many children. I just watched the engagement and wedding episodes and the diamond and San Francisco episodes at my sisters and they all think I'm obsessed with the Duggars now (which is sort of true ) I wonder if Anna is pregnant yet?

That sounds like "Cousin Amy". She is the daughter of Jim Bob's sister I believe. She is on the show a lot. I think she provides the contrast of the Duggars lifestyle to that of the mainstream. She does seem to enjoy the camera and the limelight quite a bit IMO.

I started to watch the mission trip episode, but I just couldn't get into it... I don't know... it just seemed to rub me the wrong way.

I fet that the trip was so inspiring. I watched it with my 7 year old and he told me he did not know that people could be that poor. He had never seen it with his own eyes. We talked about ways that we can give and help others in the world. It was a special moment between the two of us and it made me love this family even more! I just can't get enough of them.

I did miss the birth show so I hope they rerun it soon!

Just found this thread so

Was anyone else just floored by Josh's singing voice in the wedding episode? I had never heard him sing before and was amazed. And how cool to have your husband sing to you at the wedding!

I've only seen the wedding episode so far. I agree with the pp who said kudos to them for making the children the center of their lives. Michelle has such a peacefulness about her that I'm just drawn to the show. I aspire to be as calm and unflappable as she seems to be.

I just watched tonight's episode. Did anyone catch the My Breast Friend pillow in her hands when they got home? Then they had a little factoid that stated Michelle has nursed for 20 years. If only they'd shown her nursing little Jordyn...

It would be nice, but I suspect with concerns about privacy and modesty, it's not something we'll ever see; she doesn't even allow the cameras to show her belly during pregnancy when she's having an ultrasound.

I honestly felt that Josh would have sounded better if he had sang in his own octave instead of trying to sing lower.

I'm pretty sure I remember her nursing on camera during one of the older specials- under a blanket, but still. IIRC, she was walking around too- maybe it was the moving special?

Oh, I realize she is very modest and it isn't likely that they will show her nursing. I was just having a "wishful thinking" kind of moment. I always hope to see women nursing on tv and get excited over the possibility of it.

I was just thinking of the number of Vbacs that Michelle has had! WOW! She should be the poster mom for that! 16 pregnancies (2 sets of twins) and only 3 c-sections is awesome!

I cried when I saw Grandpa Duggar last night. How wonderful that they can take him into their home and help care for him.

I am completely amazed and in love with this family!

I believe he has a brain tumor. He can not speak anymore. Last night it showed Michelle and Grandma Duggar giving him a haircut and they showed the bedroom that they share in the Duggar house now. He had a hospital bed and Grandma had a single bed alongside his. Made me cry...

Michelle and Jim Bob discussed Grandpa Duggar during their California trip episode because Grandma and Grandpa came and stayed with the kids. There was a cute scene with Grandpa & Amy at the park with the rest of the kids. He does have an inoperable brain tumor.

She has even birthed at home and had a vaginal birth with twins (I don't believe the twins were one of the homebirths though Just clarifying. )
