My beautiful son, Cael, was born on Friday, Feb. 6th! I woke up with contractions Friday morning around 5:30am. They were really painful, and about 15-20 minutes apart. They didn't get too much closer, but I went in to my doctor's office at 11:45am to be checked, and was 5 cm dilated and 100% effaced. So off to the hospital I was sent.
Around 5pm we started pushing. Cael's head was crooked and turned a little, so was stuck for a bit. Finally, after an episiotomy and (failed) use of the vacuum extractor, Cael was born at 6:34pm. They unfortunately took him to the nursery relatively quickly because he was really pale, and wasn't crying too much, and for something else I can't remember. But after some oxygen and a half hour, I had him back and got to nurse. He weighed 7lbs 15 oz, 19 1/2in long. We had a little trouble getting the hang of nursing, but now things are going well in the department.
We are so happy to be home! He is such a happy baby!
And, this is an awesome 1,000th post, in my opinion!!
