Not vaccinating and traveling abroad?!?

My ds is fully vaccinated as I didn't know not vaccinating was an option at the time. Thankfully, he had no adverse side effects as far as we know. We are expecting our second child in June and I would like to vax selectively, delayed, or not all, but am worried about traveling abroad with an unvaccinated child. My DH is from China and we are planning a trip to his hometown in May of 2010 when this baby should be about 11 months old. Do any of you have experience with this? I don't want to put my child at risk either way and am not sure what I should do.

Regards travel and vaccines

I travel alot to 3rd world countries (Indonesia and India) to do homeopathic volunteer work in verry remote clinics for the poor. You would think in this sort of environment it would be dangerous to NOT be vaccinated.
I NEVER get vaccinated prior to ANY of my trips.

instead this is what I do-

I carry with me a homeopathic kit of 50 remedies that covers most ailments I might get on these trips.Homeopathy is save for infants, babies, toddlers, children, elderly, everyone! You might want to consider that as a option.

What to bring on a trip:
1-50 remedy Emergency homeopathic kit (Washington Homeopathics)
small compact box aprox 3"X5".
2-Have a book on acute symptoms and how to treat it using homeopathy
3-contact info(phone or email) for a long distance practicioner (homeopath) just in case you need help finding the correct remedy.

It sounds to me like you decided not to vaccinate because of all the toxins in the vaccine, but you actually believe that vaccines offer some sort of healthy protection. I believe you are at the very beginning of your research and will most likely do more. That's when you'll learn that an unaltered immune system is the strongest protection a person can have. No matter where s/he lives.

Undoubtedly you will not give your child dirty water (polio) in China, nor let him be cold, hungry, and living in a refugee tent (diphtheria), nor will he be doing drugs via needles or prostitution (Hep B), or any of the other things that may put him in danger of diseases.

When a child has to live under abject conditions, no amount of vaccine will protect him.

Your child may still get some childhood disease which he could get anywhere in the world, since that is what nature has intended for his immune system. Childhood infections and fevers should not be avoided since they build a strong immune system and may prevent cancer and other autoimmune diseases in older age.

True. But if I call myself a safe driver on the highways, then what about the other idiots on the road that can hit me and cause an accident?

Of course you won't give you child those things or let him liv in a hut or do needles, but what about the OTHER people in other countries that could carry diseases and can pass it onto your unvaccinated child? Do you believe that your child has an immune system of steel to fight off potentially serious diseases?

I would vaccinate for the ones that can pose a risk on your trip. Weight the risks and benefits. You're taking risks with your child to go unvaccinated.

You just need to extend your research to consider the risk of infection during a short stay in your husband's hometown and, likely, surrounding areas, given the activities you will be doing, etc. Compare those against the risks associated with any of the vaccines you are considering for this trip, and make the call that is best for your family and your situation.

NO VACCINE IS A SAFE VACCINE,The dangers are documented
Kids that have been vaccinated MAKE the OTHER kids sick,I see this ALL the time!
Most people believe that victory over the infectious diseases of the last century came with the invention of immunisations...........This is 100%False Please read the links
