anyone else here suffering from any dizziness/faint type feelings? i also have low blood pressure, but i'm a little worried. this is the 2nd big dizzy spell i've had.... it'd be nice to know i'm not alone.

it comes out no where & i start sweating, then it goes away. i know for sure it's not anxiety-related (i have an anxiety disorder and i can tell the difference)

should i be concerned?

I have low blood pressure during pregnancy and yes, I do notice dizzy spells especially early on. I try to be careful about how quickly I move around and stand up, although that's tougher this time around with a toddler. You're not alone, though.

i have really low blood pressure normally anyway (around 90/50) so i'm kinda a little worried... *sighs* i was so dizzy in walmart i thought i was going to faint! it was awful

I get orthostatic hypotension. According to my friend, her doctor said this is a good sign; it means your blood volume is increasing and your blood pressure hasn't caught up yet.

i normally have low blood pressure and frequently get dizzy/light headed during pregnancy. you are not alone at all. the best things i have found are to sit for a few moments or have a snack.

I did last pregnancy - I'm prone to occasional dizziness anyway. None so far this time though.

My blood pressure got pretty low with DD, already there are many times I feel like I am going to pass out. I remember having one really bad dizzy spell and called my doc, she said I just was hot and dehydrated....I told her if I drank anymore water I'd have drank a lake. That pissed me off:, I was seeing stars from it. I had to quit work soon after because it was becoming a pretty common occurrence.

85/40

care for you: Have you found any relief from the low blood pressure?

I have it too and am exhausted every day. Everyone kept telling me it'd go away once the blood caught up (after the first triemester they said) but here I am, almost 6 months pregnant and it has not improved, not even one little bit. Last couple of OB visits it was 85/40.

They just congratulate me on avoiding high blood pressure. They have NO clue how obnoxious it is to walk around all day exhausted and dizzy. If I hear one more person say, "Sometimes when we stand up too fast...." Of course I know that happens, it happens to everyone. How about when you almost faint while seated in a chair minding your own busniess. I have fainted during this pregnancy and feel for the walls everytimesince I can only see blackness and stars for the first few seconds when I get up despite drinking lots of water and getting up slowly and stretching.

I also have an issue where I actually feel best when I havn't had food yet and my stomach is empty. Upon eating I feel incredibly lethargic and dizzy. Often I just fall asleep after eating. I suspect all blood is rushing to intestines to digest food and I simply don't have enough blood pressure to stand up and move around. I've tried exercising and that hasn't worked during pregnancy (helped a little when I wasn't pregnant, but doesn't seem to work anymore).

Anyway...just wondering if anyone has found anything to have helped with severely low blood pressure.

i also normally have low blood pressure, which usually is not an issue other than a slight head rush/dizziness if i stand up too fast.

during pregnancy it is more of a pain and dizzy spells are much more common. the only way i have found to cope with it is to sit for a good few minutes and drink something with sugar like orange juice. and try not to stand up too fast, but who ever really thinks about that until after the fact?

Salt water, especially first thing in the morning, helps me when I am having those dizzy spells. About a half a teaspoon of real sea salt (like Celtic Sea Salt or Redmond Real Salt) in a glass of water. If you can't stand it, you probably don't need it. Recharge might help as well, since it's got salt in it. Also, avoid high potassium foods like potatoes and bananas. Eat lots of seaweed. Drink lots of water. Make sure your blood sugar is stable, because low blood sugar can make it worse. Eat a lot of protein.

Oh man, my last test came back saying I was low in potassium! But, I will try the salt water thing. Ya know, I used to eat seaweed (made salty chips out of dulse) and I don't eat it anymore because we moved and they don't sell it in our small town. I bet it had been helping me though huh? I definitely have a high protein diet. I am excited to try drinking salt water...it does sound awful...but blacking out all the time and exhaustion is more awful!

Now I'm craving some seaweed.

I also wonder if it's a combo of low things - low BP, blood sugar and iron?
I've struggled with low everything, and find addressing the iron with Floradix and blood sugar with nutrition/protein helps a bit. My BP is better now though- at 20 weeks I was up to 100/60 from 90/50. I'm 22.5 weeks now and just hear my heartbeat in my ears really loud, and get out of breath like crazy. But not dizzy.
My m/w said 90/50 isn't really low, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Oh I have that too! The bridge of my nose, my head and my hands all just throb and I feel like my heartbeat is so loud...like my heart is really, really chugging along to get the blood moving.
