skin to skin sling?

I thought I remembered seeing an ad in Mothering for some sort of sling or wrap or something that was specifically designed for wearing baby next to your skin. I've looked at old issues and can't find it...does anyone know of such a product?

Thanks,
Julie

We used a Moby wrap when ds was teeny and it is perfect for skin to skin. It has enough coverage all around to enable you to go totally shirtless if you chose (I wouldn't answer the door in that get-up, but it's fine for around the house!). We loved our moby; soft and stretchy with just enough give. When ds was about 20 lbs or so it was a bit too stretchy for me and I got a Beco structured carrier but there are woven wraps (Storchenwiege, Didymos) made of a material that won't stretch if you like the wrap for a heavier baby.

i don't know if there's a specific product, but besides some of the carriers that have an inner harness like the Beco Butterfly, i think you'll find that most carriers will give you lots of skin-to-skin contact if you're not wearing a shirt. a pouch or ring sling less so than a wrap or a mei tai, since the pouch and ring sling need to have a good bit of fabric coming between you and baby in order to hold the baby securely.

Precious Image Creations has a line of clothing designed to wear your baby skin to skin up to 15 pounds.
