Dh and I have been struggling whether to send our 29 month old to a new M classroom starting sometime in March. We thought about sending her to a toddler program last August, but decided to wait a year. Right now I am the primary care-giver for dd, although we have a nanny ~12 hours a week.
The M school is an established program, they were planning on opening up a new classroom in December '08, but the construction schedule fell behind. Hence, they will be opening up the classroom sometime in March. The school will end mid-May because they don't have summer programs.
Dd has been asking to go to preschool lately, so when the M school called to tell us that they will be opening up a class next month it really made us think it might be a good idea. I just don't know if it is useful send dd to a new environment, have her get used to it, then having to wait until August to start up again. Although I thought it could be a good dry, so to speak.
I love M philsophy, but we're not convinced that it will be a good fit for dd. She is highly creative and hates to be told how to do things, although she loves to learn from example. When she gets bored with a particular activity, she tends to create new ways of playing. I wasn't sure how well that would go over in a M environment.
I've rambled enough
, I really would love some feedback!
