Where to talk to him? - Page 2

how about taking him out to eat before or after your talk? if you can find a way to not make it seem like some kind of buttering up. I think privacy trumps the need to go out personally, so he can feel comfortable expressing himself honestly in response. or maybe you can take him out for lunch on a different day. or, the car ride idea is good - you could pick up take out while you are out.

Oh - and during the summer, they include children's admission passes to various local attractions (Aquarium, Science World, Grouse Mountain...can't recall the others). It's pretty cool for kids.

They were running a Thai menu pretty recently, and it was pretty good.
Oh man, I do miss that. My dad took bro and me there and we'd always get the pirate pack.

I'm glad your talk with DS went well, but I'm feeling very 'out of the loop' with this restaurant talk! I haven't heard of any of the restaurants you guys are talking about- are they all Canadian chains or do the two of you live in the same town?

A little from Colum A and a little from colum B.

They are both Canadian restaurants. I don't know about White Spot, but The Keg is I believe strictly BC too.

We both live in the GVRD too so we're bound to have a few conversations only we understand.

For "difficult" talks I find talking in the car works (if they're sitting in the back seat and you are driving.) They're a little more willing to talk if they don't have to make eye contact!

I believe White Spot has expanded over the last decade or so. Someone told me they have a few restaurants in Alberta, and someone else told me they have a few in Washington. I don't know if either of those are true, though. They were definitely purely BC originally.
