Has anyone made Dreena's chocolate cake recipe?

http://viveleveganrecipes.blogspot.c...te-cake-2.html She uses all rice flour which makes me wary that it might be gummy. Thoughts? Or does anyone have a really good choco cake recipe with NO seeds, bananas, legumes or any of the big 8? I'm trying to come up with something for V-day.

can you use xanthan gum? There's a recipe that looks really good in "Living Without" this month (it's on the cover). It's a chocolate zucchini cake. I'm thinking about trying it for Valentine's Day as cupcakes (though I'll still have to sub some things, and can't use either of the gums).

We can do guar gum. Good idea about that recipe. I'd forgotten I had that issue. Thx.

I Dreena's chocolate cake. I made it for DS1's birthday and all the gluten, dairy, egg eating kids loved it too.

Not at all. It's very nice and moist. Nice crumb. And absolutely EXCELLENT with a cherry filling (if you can have cherries). I served it to gluten eaters at a dinner I held also with the cherry filling and they were floored to learn it was gluten free and vegan. One of them said "Aris can eat this?!" and another was about to tell Aris he couldn't have any when he went to get a piece.

I haven't tried that one but my sister, Auntie_aya, makes a fabulous cake for me that has buckwheat and cocoa. It is a super basic recipe, and I don't even bother to frost it. It has a really nice consistency. It is light and airy. She got the recipe from someone here, I just don't know which it is, but I can find out and let you know - I highly recommend it!
