To All the mamas of dark haired babies

OH HOW I ENVY YOU. I always wanted a baby with lots of dark hair, just like I did when I was born. Alas, I married a blonde. 2 red heads, a platinum blonde and a baldy later I have resolved myself to the fact that I will never have my wish, so I will live vicariously through others.

Rant over.

I am a dark blonde/light brunette married to a dark blonde.

My two babies so far have both been born with very dark brown hair that falls out and comes in very very blonde within the first few weeks or months. Both of my boys are still blonde. I expect their hair will darken as they grow up, just like DH's and mine, and I expect DD will probably have the same kind of hair.

I'm so stupid these days. I read that as, "Alas, I married a blonde, 2 red heads, a platinum blonde and a baldy" as if you were marrying people just for their hair.

Sorry.

Ha!

I always thought I'd have bald or blonde babies, just like I was. But, nope, 3 dark haired little guys for me. Eventually, both grew super fine blonde hair like both dh and I had as kids, and now both have darker hair in the winter, lighter hair in the summer. I suspect this one will too.

I don't think birth hair has too much connection to hair color later, but I'm not sure what does cause it???

I'm a brunette married to a brunette and our first had very thick black hair which fell out and came back in a rich brown. Both girls though had fine reddish blond hair which never completely fell out and both now have dishwater blond hair. That's how I started out though so they could both become brunettes like me.

My second baby actually was born with dark reddish brown fuzz. I was surprised since DH and I both had platnum blonde hair as young kids. She turned into a redhead and then a platnum blonde naturally. So, what they're born with, isn't what they end up with!

All my three kids already on the outside were born with lback hair...oldest dd turned brown, ds turned completly light blond (?) and youngest dd is dark blond...I wonder what this baby will be!

I'm a redhead and all my dd's have dark hair. Actually dd#2 had dark blonde for a while but now it seems to have darkened a bit. My newest addition has the most and darkest hair of all. Clearly taking after my dh's side.

I obviously have no idea what this babe will have and she's my first so nothing to compare to. But I was born with TONS of black, curly hair. I lost the curl completely and my hair was platinum blonde all the way through childhood. It's now a dishwater blonde, slowly getting darker as I get older.

DH was born with just a little bit of dark hair and he now has blonde hair.

I hope this LO has lots of dark hair like I did!

My DH and I are both brunette, but we have every color of hair in our families. DS was born with very light blonde hair that has darkened some. DH was born with black hair, and mine was light brown. I keep dreaming that this LO will be darker haired- so we will see.

My DH and I are both fairly dark brunette, and we have a flaming red head and a blondie so far. I am hoping for a brunette this time to complete my set! Can't wait to see!

Now sure how this is determined but a girl can dream! Here's hoping you can find a brunette in your future too (if you plan on having more, that is!)
