My DS1 is in a M school I am very happy with. He is doing well. He will not be old enough for kindergarten until 2011, although his single year of M has more than prepared him for kindergarten readiness. He only needs to work a little more at zipping his coat. Next year we are considering re-enrolling him in M school, although it is expensive at $6200 (a 12% increase over last year's tuition). Or, we could take a year off school and do some homeschool M activities.
I think K and up at M school will be too expensive for our family. Full day is approaching $8,000, and I have three children.
My DS2 is 2.5, he will turn 3 in July. His enrollment interview is coming up. I think he is not ready for 5 mornings a week, and I can either keep him home and do home M activities, or send him to a 2 day a week program at a local Christian school that is a fairly relaxed of play and learning.
I am thinking that my DS2 may be best off in M in 2010, then go to a regular kindergarten. I know it is not ideal to only do one year of the 3 year M cycle, but I think any exposure to M is wonderful and it will prepare him very well for school.
My husband is very opposed to keeping my oldest home full time. He thinks DS1 needs school for socialization and listening to teachers and he thinks I am going to be bad for learning. I hate that he is thinking that. We may be very free flowing. There is nothing specific that DS1 actually needs to learn to be ready for Kindergarten and I don't think he will lose his ability to count, etc.
Just posting in case anyone has insights.
Our third will not be ready to consider enrollment until 2012 (3 years) or 2013 (4 years)
