Natural foaming shaving cream for DH?

He wants no propylene glycol, and I try to avoid parabens and most chemicals when possible. But he's tried every natural shaving cream in a tube and none of them foam up and he says they clog his razor. Anyone have any recommendations? Right now he's using a mainstream brand that has less chemicals, but OMG the smell is AWFUL.

My dh usually just uses hair conditioner as I've used it to shave my legs. It works pretty well, soft skin after and more choices of smell. I wonder if it would clog his razor as well? Have you considered the old fashioned shaving soap that is in a cup with a brush. It might not foam up as he is used to, but it would lather and might be thin enough to not clog his razor.
HTH.

DH uses a brush and tallow soap (actually, I think he has more shaving stuff than I have bath stuff, he's a bit obsessed He also uses an old fashioned safety razor) he gets quite a bit of foam. There is a learning curve, but he likes it a lot.. and he shaves every morning so it can't be taht much of a hassle

My DH uses a mug and brush with soap, too. In theory, you can use any old hunk of soap, but we just buy the $1.50 shave soap that they have at Wal Mart. We buy maybe four of these a year. It is nice and foamy, gentle on the face, very mild smell.

I use aloe vera as my shave gel.
