My DD's front teeth came in last June and by July they had brown spots on the fronts. Now she is 15mo and they are literally crumbling and the brown spots have grown to half of her teeth. We have visited two dentists so far and it is very clear that she will need work done or she will not have any teeth in a few months at this rate.
The pediatric dentist seems to think it is a developmental issue with her enamel and I am inclined to agree since we eat no sugar whatsoever, our diet is rich in bone broths, kefir, yogurt, fermented vegetables, HVCLO etc.
She has serious fear of masked people and so holding her while they are filled is out of the question. Having her under GA is really disturbing in in itself but I am extremely uncomfortable with leaving my unconscious baby with total strangers. (I cannot find a ped dentist who will allow me to be in the room while she is being worked on.) All of the dentists I talked to recently seemed to think this is on the rarer side of things for a child this young which makes me more nervous about having her sedated.
So.... help? Assuming that I can't find someone to let me be in the room, even if I swear not to throw myself between the drills and her teeth at the last second, has anyone else experienced this sort of thing? How did you do it?? How did you prepare yourself and your baby for the physical experience of sedation and what did you do after?
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom. I have knots in my stomach just thinking about it.

but everyone was super nice and I was able to be there when he woke up in recovery. He had a hard time waking up (just crabby and disoriented) and he just wanted to sleep with my nipple in his mouth - he couldn't quite get the coordination down to nurse.
