and was otherwise normal until at 15 months she received a measles, mumps and rubella vaccine combined with the preservative thimerosal, found in MMR and other vaccines at the time.
(don't feel like counting so half a sentence it is.)

Ugg.. I thought the MMR never did have thimerosal?

each of the three cases took a different attempt at proving causation. One said it was the MMR and essentially went with Wakefield's argument. ANother said it was the preservative. Another said it was a combination of both/they also threw other ingredients in there.

Well the CNN reporter specifically said it was found in the MMR. Then went on to say a couple paragraphs later basically what you said. Nice fact checking.

What a surprise...

I think this outcome was expected. They didn't pick the three best cases to present, from what I read at the time. And one of them, Hannah Poling, was pulled at the last minute because the vaccine DID cause/trigger her autism.

They will never allow the courts or anyone else to say that vaccines cause autism or anything else because their liability would be so far reaching. It would put the companies who make the vaccines completely under and destroy our medical infrastructure. I never expect them to admit the danger and damage they cause, so I will just do my best to protect my own children and educate other parents as best I can.

So true. So true.

another reason why they will never "win" is because this vaccine court and trial system was created to keep loses out of the Pharma books, and the proof has to be "on table", meaning it was immediately evident, or within 24 hrs and under medical supervision, that the vaccine caused the issue. Regression within weeks or months of the shot isn't "proof" to them, even if all other factors remained stable.

BARF. I hate knowing there are pregnant women in the world right now that will watch the news and say, "Oh hunny see, its ok, we'll vaccinate this baby fully and on schedule."

YES. I feel like running through those court rooms screaming "Double blind, you morons! Why haven't these "safe vaccines" been subject to a double blind???" Probably just get myself arrested for disturbing the peace or some such nonsense.

It's amazing how many of my colleagues sent that story to me, like "SEE? Yay vaccines! NOW don't you want to vaccinate???" As if that was the only reason (or even a reason) I'm not vaccinating.

The workings of vaccine court are no secret. You can go read about the procedure, the level of evidence needed, the way payouts are done, the special masters, their training and purpose, etc....you can read the entire omnibus proceedings online as well as well as listen through audio.

I had thought that the test cases were supposed to be representative of all the rest. Given that there were special aspects to the evidence being presented in Hanah's case I assumed they judged it couldn't be used to represent the rest.

smeisnotapirate, I suspect they don't do double blind studies on these major vaccines because it would be considered unethical. You couldn't find a group of parents willing to let their children get randomly either the vaccine or placebo.

One thing to understand about this special court is that the burden of proof is very low. As I understand it, you don't need to prove that the vaccine caused the harm, just that it's plausible that it did. Even that low standard of proof could not be met by the weight of the evidence.

Paul Offit favors vax experimentation done to Down Syndrome children. I read his book Vaccinated, and it sent chills up my spine the way he condoned and rationalized the Willowbrook Experiments. :
