is it safe for me to try ted?

I am 3 weeks pp...

dd had food intolerances (she was tested for allergies as a babe and all were neg plus she has outgrown most of her problems (she's almost 3)...except extreme dairy like ice cream, or overdoing milk and even then it's just a gas issue)

now ds (3wks) is already showing signs of problems. I cut out dairy at day 2 b/c it was obvious something was up but we are still having issues.
when I look down the dr. sears' list of "fuss food symptoms", every single one except failing to thrive (he's actually growing very quickly since he wants to nurse constantly which seems like it can be a symptom as it makes their belly feel temporarily better) is true of him.
anyway...
*green mucousy poop...very frequent and very explosive.
*rash around anus which is not going away despite cream, diaper switches, airing out...so red it's raw and bleeding in places
*very fussy/painful during and after nursing..will pull off and go back repeatedly...has variable points of the day where he is nearly inconsolable though most often at night.
*sleeps 90minutes strait max at night
*very very gassy
there's probably more I'm not thinking of but
anyway,
I want to make his pain go away (and ours...hearing baby cry this much is awful) so I'm back to ted which we did with dd...though when she was older.
I went grocery shopping today and picked up what Sear's recommends:
turkey, lamb, potatoes (white and sweet), pears and a gazillion things made out of rice...

that being said is it safe to do this this early postpartum while nursing a nb and a toddler (dd doesn't take in much...about 3X/day)

I figure it's only 2 weeks till I can start adding things back in...
wwyd?

Honestly, no- I wouldn't do a TED at 3 weeks pp.

You could do an ED- just take out the most common triggers, which are: dairy, soy, eggs, gluten. More common triggers are corn, acidic foods like citrus and nightshade veggies.

Also, start a detailed food journal. Watch for hidden ingredients.

Gotta run... DD fussing. Check out my blog for more stuff (link in sig.)

I agree. I'd take things out one at a time and go down, instead of cutting everything out and going up.

You already took out dairy. Take out soy next. Then gluten. Then eggs. Then corn. Then I'd do nightshades next (white potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers). Then I'd do legumes next (which can be very gassy). Then citrus.

Keep a food journal (with symptoms) during this time to help you track down additional culprits. You're on the right trail mama.
