Pocket Diaper Questions

Ok, I have a couple pocket dipe questions... We are having a 2nd baby in June so we will have 2 in diapers for at LEAST a year if DS potty learns early, probably more like 2 in diapers for 2 years. Right now I have a NB stash that will fit up to ~15 pounds, then we have like... 26 OS pockets of various makes and 6 FB mediums. I want to get a few more pockets (I would like to have 36 total) but don't know what to get.

1. Should I get more OS or more sized pockets? Recomendations?

2. My NB stash is all fitteds and covers... should I get some small pockets?

Lots of people use fitted (or prefolds) and covers exclusively for the nb stage, so you're probably fine there.

As for the pockets, go with what works best for you and what you most prefer to use right now. The advantage of the OS is that no matter who you are changing, you'll have a diaper you can use.

Do you like the Fuzzibunz? I've noticed that the mediums last a long time, so you might be ok using the mediums on both children.

I've been using a lot of Knickernappies on my youngest and like them-they are a good diaper and fairly trim.

I don't know if you know whether you're having a boy or girl, but if you're having a girl, I would totally get these:

I think they're SO CUTE. And they're OS, so they would fit (theoretically) for the majority of your baby's time in diapers.

I agree you're probably fine on the fitteds and covers - I plan to get a few aio's for my nb (due Aug), just for those middle of the night, "can't open my eyes" diaper changes....

My favorite pocket these days is the TinyTush Elite One-size. Have held up better and stayed softer then the 5 other brands I tried...

Those daisy diaper definately are cute!!!!

you can satisfy your needs nicely with fitted/pf and covers and there is really not a need to get the others. It is nice though to have a few different diapers for variety or a variety of different circumstances.
ie: others helping with changing, out of the house shopping, day trips, nighttime, Sometimes there are diapers that can be an easier fit for different times.

I sew my own pockets with the KCK One pattern. I have been very happy with it. It is a one size pattern that I think works better for young babies than the BG, for example. You can buy the pattern for 5$ or buy the diapers premade by WAHM's.
