What are you wearing during labor/hospital stay?

What is everyone planning to wear during labor and the hospital stay (for those having a hosp birth)?

When I had my daughter I just changed into the gown they gave me, and put some socks on but that was it. I was not comfortable walking around like that though b/c there were families of other women in labor there. I just felt uncomfortable. And I didn't change after I had the baby (except into new gowns). Just wondering what the plan is for everyone clothing wise...

I still don't know.

So... hopefully I'll be spending most of my labor in the birthing tub.. so absolutely 0 clothes will be needed

However in case it's not available, I'll be bringing my soft blue nightgown that's about knee length and long sleeves for nice and warmies until later in the game. I too distinctly remember NOT liking the hospital gown.

I did bring a pair of jammies for the stay afterwards that were pants and button down shirt style that worked wonderful for bfing. I'll bring same thing. I am normally a pants and shirt type of wearer.. but somehow probably wont' work for labor

I just wore the gown for the birth. I wore an old nursing tank underneath and it's pretty stained now so I wouldn't wear anything you care much about. I wore the hospital gown the first night because there's just so much blood. After that I changed to sweat pants and a t-shirt.

I'll have a hospital birth. After I'm finished with the hospital gown, just comfy PJ's and sweats. I just bought myself some new PJ's at Walmart last weekend. I can't wait to wear them (they don't fit over my big belly now, but that will be gone in the hospital ). I've also packed a coupld nursing shirts and a robe/slippers. I'm all about comfort.

I'll be wearing the gown for the birth and probably the day after. It's so messy, and I doubt I'll be venturing out of my room so it really doesn't matter what I'm wearing. Once the bleeding has lessened a little, I'll most likely change into my own lounge pants and a t-shirt.

I'm very scared of bleeding all over my own clothes, so I'll probably stay in the hospital gown until I go home. I'm planning on bringing some sort of tank top for the times I go in the tub (if I do) and a robe so my butt's not hanging out when I walk around the hallways, but that's about it.

I'm going to a birth center, so no hospital gown option. I bought two of these at Target to wear during and after. It's lightweight and really stretchy so you can pull the top down for nursing. It was cheap enough that I don't care if it gets ruined. I also got a couple of their stretchy nursing bras, the sports bra style that pulls down, to wear under or in the tub.

I'll probably just wear the hospital gown and an old robe if I want to walk around. I'd prefer not to worry about messing up my own clothes.

I just bought a nursing nightgown at Motherhood for $15 that I'll probably wear during labor when I'm not in the tub. And if it's still clean afterward I'll wear it for the rest of my hospital stay as well. I could not get comfortable in the gown during labor with DS, I felt naked and exposed the whole time even though I think wore one like a robe. If for some reason the nightgown doesn't fit (I've got lots of room in it as of right now) when I go into labor I will probably wear some black lounge pants and a T-shirt. I'm not going anywhere near the hospital gown for labor this time! I do not want the "patient" look or mentality to inhibit me again.

I bought the exact same thing the other day.

Sometimes I think it's silly to think about what I'll wear during labor but I want to make sure I'm comfortable. This is my first so I have no idea what I'll want to wear when the time comes but I want to have options. One thing is for sure, I'm gonna have one giant hospital bag.

I'm planning on bringing an old t-shirt and loose shorts and some socks/slippers I am comfy in and don't mind getting dirty for everything up until the tub (I am going to a birth center adjacent to a hospital, so they have gowns, but I want to stay up and active for as long as I can and I think I'll feel more "up" in my own clothes). For the tub, I want to wear a tank top, as my family will be hanging out until we think the baby is very near to being born (at which point, I want it to be only my husband and me (and the midwife and any nurses) and I might just take the top off, too).

Afterward, I'll go ahead and wear the hospital gown and that meshy underwear for a while, but I'm also bringing my own PJ top, to make things feel more at-home for me.

for those of you who mentioned pants for the laboring part...... really??

when i got to the hospital with my first, I had to get changed. they just said it was "what you do". (b/c the doctor checks you periodically, etc.) Did you just change back and forth for that??

No, I don't get naked on command for anyone (except maybe DH). I declined vaginal exams with dd1 in the hospital until it was time to push. I ended up just wearing a bra towards the end though.

I had high hopes to wear my gown but it was just a bra by the time he arrived I get so hot when I am in labor & boy does modesty fly out the window I just started stripping in the er & was in a bra within seconds of hitting the L&D room

I have no idea what I wore going into the hospital when in labor with DD... normal comfy clothes, I imagine. They had me change into a gown but I shucked it and was completely naked shortly after transition, as it was bothering me. Nobody said a word! This time I will probably have my mom around to help care for DD so I will probably want to wear *something*.

My DH got me a matching nursing gown & robe that I put on after I took a shower and that's what I wore until I left the hospital. I still have it and am planning on wearing it this time postpartum as well.

During labor I plan on wearing a tank top and underwear. I'm bringing with me sweats, tank tops, t shirts to wear post partum as I have know idea what I'll be in the mood for!

During labor I'm thinking about wearing a oversized t-shirt with chuck norris on it that says
"pain is weakness leaving the body".

LOL

I'm bringing a robe to walk the halls in if I need to and that's it for labor wear. I did not want to wear anything but socks last time, but I realize I can't walk the halls naked!

Still trying to figure out PP wear if I have to stay in the hospital for some reason. I'm thinking of picking up a couple of pairs of cute flannel pj pants from Target in a size too big.
