dairy-free alternative to gold fish crackers?

My 17 month old (and almost 5 year old) love goldfish crackers. They are the 1 snack I can keep in the diaper bag that both will eat so that I don't have to bring different items.

However, my 17 month old just tested positive with a skin test to having a dairy allergy.

And Goldfish crackers contain dairy.

Are there any similar alternatives that hopefully both will eat?

I carry fruit snacks and cereal for my 3 yo DD (she has allergies to dairy, egg, peanut, shellfish and tree nuts). I have a 10 yo DS who will also snack on the treats I carry.

I just did a quick google search and found this recipe (vegan).
If you're looking for something premade, I found this under the same search (vegan goldfish crackers).
HTH.

Ooh, I'm going to try to make this work using non-wheat flour. My kids would love to have crackers they can eat!

Yeah, it's something I've been meaning to work on too. If you make it work, *please* post your recipe in the Recipes sticky.

I'd go the recipe route. The premade crackers are non-dairy. It's better to look for Dairy free. Those particular crackers come with the following fine print: ***Allergen Information- Contains wheat. Manufactured in a facility that uses dairy, eggs, tree nuts, and peanuts.*** I'd control what goes into the snack by preparing them yourself. Good luck! Ditto to the other snack suggestions.

I'm glad someone read the fine print.

we used to get the Trader Joe's oyster crackers (didn't have wheat or dairy or soy at the time but we haven't been able to have them since June since going gluten-free).
