Cloth Diapering Thread

I figure there is probably enough interest to warrant a thread, and I only have a few questions, so here's for all those who have questions and those too who have pearls of wisdom.

So, I have CDed DS since he was 3 months old (we moved when he was 10 weeks, so I waited until that was over to get to it). After trying tons of different dipes very briefly I exclusively use BumGenius! I feel like I really didn't give all the other diapers a fair chance, because I didn't really understand how to stuff and wash etc., but I got rid of all of them except two hemp fitteds with wool covers and about six organic Dream-Eze that leaked every time I used them.
I'd like to CD right from the start, but will definitely need to buy some infant sized dipes.

Any advice or suggestions?

I love prefolds and a cover with gussets for newborns, or just a fitted with no cover or anything for when we don't go anywhere. Fitted and wool at night.

We cloth diaper dd from 14 months on... for this baby I think we will do pre folds and thirsties covers and maybe a few fitteds like the thirsties fab fitteds and cricketts.

This. Exactly.

I was a REAL weirdo. I even took prefolds/covers to the hospital with dd!

This will be baby #5 that will go stright into regular 'ol prefolds since birth. I too even brought them to the hospital. I've never tried any other diaper types, ever! I'm always scared away by prices, & fear I might not like them. Prefolds have always worked fine for us. I've always used whatever covers I come across used as well- nothing fancy.

Prefolds and wool covers here too. I used fleece with DS but after three kids they're shot. I'm actually going to sew up some "daddy flats" for this LO. It seems a waste to make a ton of fitteds for 1 month's use

Moving to diapering. If you want to start a "share your stash"-type thread in your DDC that's fine, but general questions about cloth diapering need to go in the diapering forum.

I will CD more than I did with DS, but I don't think I'm going to fuss over anything newborn. I'm not going to make diapers that will only last a month, I'll prolly just use sposies for the first month or so. :

After that, plain old PF's and covers are looking lovely to me!

I am a long time fan of pf and good covers or fitteds and covers. Or in the summer no covers and lots of air.

An occasional AIO for out of the house for quick changes in public.
