JMT & NAET Allergy Treatment-Update

Has anyone here ever heard of JMT -- Jaffe-Mellor Technique? I think it's similar in principle to NAET and AAT.

On the 24th I have my first appt with a woman chiropractor in my town who does a combination of NAET plus JMT plus "homeopathic-ish" (her word) treatments.

Hmmm, no responses... so I take it no one has heard of this or tried it? Rats.

Well, I'm still excited for my appointment. Feeling hopeful.

I've never heard of it. I'm subbing to see if anyone else knows more and also to hear an update after you go.

Update as promised:

I had my first appointment today with the doctor who does NAET and JMT. After taking my history and testing me, she treated me for Corn, Soy, Grains, Vit C and Calcium. She sent me home with a dropper bottle of distilled water with the energetic signatures of those five substances, and I am to take a half-dropper of it under my tongue every waking hour for the next four days. She said I can start trying small amounts of those five foods whenever I want to trial them.

I am going back for a second appointment tomorrow. She said it will probably take 10-12 appointments to clear everything, but I should be seeing "significant improvement" by the 3rd or 4th treatment.

My husband is getting very excited by the thought that he may be able to cook with (and eat things with) onion and garlic again! After she treats me for those, of course.

That sounds really cool. Hoping it works wonderfully!: (and keep updating )

Today was my second appointment. I was treated for: Vit A, B-vitamins, Minerals, Sugar, and Salt. I tested strong (meaning my body tolerates the substance well) for Iron and Eggs. Good thing, since eggs are one of my staples!

She gave me another bottle of drops that I have to take every waking hour for the next four days, along with the ones I started yesterday. My next appointment is on Monday.

Well, I got brave and ate CORN TORTILLA CHIPS last night! A lot of them! First I opened the bag and smelled them for awhile... it didn't bother me. I was amazed, as the smell alone used to bother me and we had banned them from the house. Then I ate them with a bean dip (refried beans, ground beef, black olives, cabbage, and sour cream). I think the refried beans and the black olives may have had some corny ingredients, too, as they were just regular brands, not special corn-free brands. I was just going to eat a few, but they tasted so good that I kept going.

It felt SO STRANGE to deliberately eat corn. I felt guilty, LOL. And scared and excited, and wow, it tasted so good just to eat something different. The whole family was so excited.

The last time I ate corn chips (over 18 months ago) I remember I got neurological reactions (mood changes, headache, irritability, emotionally out of control) and the following day woke up with my throat sore and tight.

I had none of that this time. After I ate, I felt sleepy and very full (I did eat a lot). But no mood changes, etc. And it's now the next day, and my throat feels fine!

This feels like magic and is really hard to believe. But I can't wait to go back next week for more treatments.

So are you planning to eat corn everyday to see if there's a build-up reaction? Also, is your corn allergy IgE or IgG?

Yes, I'm going to eat something with corn every day. I see the doctor again on Monday. She wants me to start trying stuff so she knows if the treatment is working for me or not. I already ate a few corn chips this morning, and I think I'll eat some actual corn kernels tonight and see how it goes.

I assume mine is IgG; I was RAST tested and nothing showed up as IgE. (Although the lab screwed up and did one food as IgG by mistake, and that showed a reaction.) He said at best the RAST is only 50% accurate anyway; he couldn't do SPT on me because I had dermagraphism. He doesn't do IgG testing but is more of the school that "if you react, you're allergic, avoid the food."

The allergist is actually the one who referred me to this alternative doctor over a year ago, after telling me there was nothing he could do to help me other than prescribe an antihistamine.

Tonight for dinner I ate some whole kernel corn (canned) and then about five corn fritters (like pancakes) with maple syrup.

About a half hour after I ate, I noticed a bit of an energy drain (sleepiness) and a slight headache that lasted for about an hour. I thought the sleepiness could have just been from the high carb load; my body is not used to that many simple carbs at one time. But, considering the headache also, it could have been a bit of an allergy reaction; I'm not sure. At any rate it was very mild, and now at bedtime I feel just fine. I'm just recording it all to report back to the doctor on Monday.

I hope it's not annoying to people if I continue to update. I thought it might be helpful to someone down the road who decides to pursue NAET or JMT or AAT.

My food trials were skewed for the weekend because DH decided to cook something with green onion last night (and reheated it this morning, grrrr), and I'm terribly reactive to airborne onion. So I felt sick from that last night and most of this morning and afternoon.

Tonight I felt better and ate some corn chips again. Like before, I noticed a little energy drain from them--a little fatigue and my hands/feet get colder--which lasts about an hour, then goes away and I feel fine. My throat has not reacted at all, from any of the corn I've eaten, which is totally amazing to me and gives me great hope. I can't wait for my treatment tomorrow!

No, I'm glad you keep updating. Last time I read your update and thought to myself "I hope she keeps updating even I don't answer."
I'm glad to hear things are going well. I have so many threads that I'm reading (and the big chat re-do on Saturdays takes me a little time) along with normal life stuff and trying to actually keep up with and contribute to the detox thing... Whew. It's fun! (seriously, I'm loving it)
Thank you for updating! I hope you continue to do so.

Thank you Jacqueline! I will keep updating, just for you. :

Today at treatment #3: she treated me for Yeast, Coffee, Chocolate, Tomato Mix and Onion Mix. I tested strong (non-reactive) to Casein so didn't need that one treated.

She tested me also for some minerals that I had concerns about and found I am deficient in Iron, Zinc and Copper. I'm not surprised about the Iron and Zinc, but am surprised about the Copper as I assumed I was high copper/low zinc.

I'm going to start taking two supplements by Standard Process: Zypan and Allerplex. Probably will take those for 1 to 3 months and then re-assess.

I am done with all the "basics" and now can have other foods/substances treated in whatever order I want. Coconut is at the top of my list for Wednesday. I want to use coconut oil again, and coconut milk, and taste that coconut ice cream everyone here raves about!

I go back on Wednesday and Friday, and am taking my youngest DD for her first appointment on Friday too.

I'm reading your updates, too:

That's great that she treats you in whatever order you like

wow! : i am so happyfor you! I hope you just keep seeing greater and greatrer improvements!

Sounds like you are having good results.

I have taken my two year old for these same treatments. (I think he must have gone it about six times?) I don't know whether it worked or not. Didn't do a thing for his eczema, which was what I was hoping for.

Congrats on your success! My family has used NAET with great results. DD1 reacted to everything, it took a year of going in before she was finally symptom free but she has remained symptom free for several years now, she eats anything she wants. My mom used to have to carry an epi pen around around I made her start NAET, she also hasn't had a reaction in 2 years and no longer needs her pen.

Meadowgirl, I'm sorry you didn't get relief for your child's eczema. Which treatment did you do, the NAET or JMT? Did they just treat one thing per visit or multiple things? Did you have to avoid the food for 24 hours after? Were you doing any other gut-healing things before?

I'm really curious why these treatments work so well for some people and not for others. I'm sure a lot depends on the practitioner. I also wonder if it's helping me so much because I've done a year of gut-healing things beforehand, plus some energy/structure work. The doctor said I'm responding really well, so I think all that "background work" must have helped.
