dark circles under eyes

Thread Starter
my almost 9 month old has always had dark cirles under his eyes, but lately they seem to be getting darker and are around all the time. they use to only be there when he was tired.

i get them too.

he has only eaten fruit and veggies and only a teaspoon a day for the past month. i can't imagine this being from food he eats. he is nursing otherwise. could this be from a food i eat? other problems?

It definitely could be from the food you're eating. Immunogloblins are concentrated in breastmilk.

When I give my DS something he's sensitive to, he gets the dark circles under his eyes.

I've read of it ultimately being related to a nutritional deficit, but they often get better when we take out our food allergens, and I'm not sure if that's because it decreases the stress in our bodies, so we don't have an excessive need for something anymore, or if the lack of the problematic foods helps our guts function better and absorb nutrients better. My daughter's got a lot better when we took gluten out of our diets (she was eating it directly and no longer nursing) but I've seen it come back to a lesser degree when her gut has gotten off.

If you've got them too (I definitely have them, but I thought for years they were "genetic" because I'm quite fair and have had them all my life) then I'd look to something that's a problem for both of you (though the signs are often to see in the kids, certainly with my kids).

I'm not sure of the accuracy of this article, but I found it interesting: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Bl...nder-Your-Eyes

Maybe you could look into supplementing your own diet with the vitamins mentioned in the article to get the vitamins to her?
