Need Maya Tie info

I'm considering adding one of these to my collection, but want some feedback first. There's only one review on here, and the search function hasn't really yielded the info I'm looking for.

So far I have an Ergo and a Moby, both of which I like for different reasons. I like the Ergo because it really supports DD against me and I can get almost all of my housework done in it and even do things like change DS while wearing her in front (with newborn insert, of course). The only thing I don't like is that it's hard to sit while wearing it and I have to take it off if I need to use the bathroom. The Moby is great because I can sit in it and it fits nicely under my jackets for outings, but it's a little bit of a pita to get on compared to the Ergo, and it doesn't provide enough head support for for DD to allow me to do the things I need to do around the house. DD likes the hug hold but she HATES having her head tucked under the shoulder straps. No matter how many times I tuck it in, she squirms to get it free, even when sleeping. So, I can't really be hands free if I need to bend over (have to hold her head with one hand).

Long story short, I thought maybe the Maya Tie might work in terms of providing enough support for DD to allow me to get chores done, but be worn a little higher than the Ergo to allow me to sit down when needed (at least some of the images I've seen online make it look that way). I can also buy it locally, which is nice. If anyone who has one of these can weigh in on the pros and cons, I'd really appreciate it!

I'm interested too, where does one buy a mei tei online?

The Maya Tie has a very similar body to the Kozy mei tai, but has wrap like straps, rather than padded straps (or at least the one I tried last year did). I didn't find it as comfortable to use as I did my Kozy. I'd recommend a Kozy over a Maya Tie personally. But, with whichever you get, you can do a back carry with it, which will allow you to be even more hands free.

There are tons of places. Some popular brands:

Babyhawk.com
Kozy.com
napsackbaby.com
togetherbe.com

Back to OP: Can you try on the Maya Tie at the place where you can purchase it? Nothing beats walking around with your little one in a carrier before buying!

I definitely can, just can't get there for a few more days, and was hoping for some first-hand info/experiences from mamas who own one, like what it's like to use on a regular basis...easy to get on/off, can you sit comfortably in it, does it provide good support for an infant, etc.?

I actually find the Maya Tie very similar to the Moby in terms of comfort. Mine has extra long straps (because I share it with my larger-sized husband), but with shorter straps it would probably be even easier to use. It isn't as hot - I didn't dare use the Moby when I went out with the baby in 80-degree weather, but had no qualms about using the Maya Tie. I can leave it on pre-tied when we are in and out of the car if we are doing front carries. It also does nice high back carries. The head rest is not the most supportive, but the body is big enough that the baby's head does not flop around too much.

yes to all of the above but that's also true for most mei tais. they are all usually easy to put on/off (with practice ofcourse), you can sit comfortable in it and the well-made ones provide good support for an infant and toddler. so, i'd say yes to all of the above for maya tie. but, i just didn't personally care for the shoulder straps on it.
