Sorry if this has been posted. I thought the coverage was very positive.

This is gonna get yanked - no celebrity topics allowed anymore.

This will unfortunately be yanked, yes. But, that was amazing- so awesome. I love her now. LOVE her.

This shouldn't be yanked!!! The whole story on dateline was wonderful....I truly had no clue how deadly tetnus was in places like sierra leone, or how mother's are discouraged from breastfeeding. The whole version of this story could go in lactavism, vaccinations (although this is very pro vaccine for third world countries) or in one of the multicultural thread, as until I heard selma talk about it- I didn't realize how common it was, in places other than america, to nurse other's babies in times of need.

There is a thread in the main BF (1st one listed) that has been going for a few days now- maybe stick to that one??

Seriously? I had no idea. Sorry. Such a positive attitude in that clip, especially in the reactions they read at the end, I just wanted to share.

I am so glad you posted this & I got to see it before it gets taken down.

That was incredibly beautiful. I am sitting here crying.

I love Salma Hayek and I am pretty sure that I need to marry her now.

FYI, we're not allowed to talk about this because it's supposedly "news" or "current events" and no discussion of either topic is permitted anymore. At least, that's my understanding of the rule. You can only discuss things in general terms. I.e. "Wet nursing generally" or whatever.

My understanding was different--we are allowed to talk about news if the news fall under one of the headings such as 'lactivism' or 'breastfeeding', but not about the news for which there's no appropriate board, such as "middle east".

From the News and Current Events forum closing notice:
Quote:
We will allow members to discuss news items in appropriate parenting forums such as breastfeeding items in lactivism, birth related items in the birth forums or chickenpox outbreaks in Health & Healing. However, keep in mind that threads still need to remain on-topic for the forum and should not be about individuals but about the general topic.

Due to our volunteer moderators time limitations, we no longer wish to host celebrity gossip, speculation or conspiracy theories. This will also extend to celebrity news threads. News and current events and celebrity news posted to these forums will be removed.
If you'd like to start a thread about promoting breastfeeding in third world countries in the Lactivism forum, that's fine, but we can't have a thread where the whole focus is a celebrity.

I left the thread in Breastfeeding because the focus was on breastfeeding and third world countries and the ethics of wet-nursing.

For the record, we've never allowed discussions of individuals nursing or deciding not to nurse in the Lactivism forum, whether they're celebrities or your second cousin twice removed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me.
