maltodextrin (from corn) and soy lecithin

Any thoughts on these? Hoping that that they are far enough removed/processed from the original source that perhaps they don't trigger reactions to the same degree as whole corn or soy? What do you think?

My dd is allergic to both soy and corn. Soy lecithin and soybean oil are far enough removed, but maltodextrin is not. Citric acid is fine for her, though. You probably need to trial each derivative separately if you're considering consuming it.

Eh, my corn allergic girl reacts to maltodextrin and dextrose. We haven't hit baseline long enough to test citric acid.

My ds is has a severe corn allergy. Corn in every single form causes him to react. He has had restricted airway issues from a contaminated bbq, from trace amounts of all sorts of things, and from airborn exposure to shampoo. Every allergic child is different, you may have to trial them to find out!

Thank you mamas. My LO does not have a severe corn allergy I am sure, because he's eaten plenty corn straight off the cobb....but he may have some intolerances we're trying to hammer out.....and I am starving!:

my son has never had actual corn, but even modified food starch, maltodextrin, sorbitol, and gluconate meds cause horrid, green, acidic diarrhea. Same with soy lecithin. Oddly, he has no issues with topical products containing any of his problem substances.
