I keep getting appeals to sign petitions or write lawmakers from various causes. Prop 8, population action, pro-choice, save the polar bear, etc. Each time, I try to think how I could wedge intactivism in there.
So this group wants me to write the US president to remind him to take abstinence-only funding restrictions out of the next budget. I write up a few beautiful paragraphs, but when I get to http://Whitehouse.gov, I find they have a strict 500-character limit. This was HARD, but I slashed it to squeek in under the limit. (My name and address etc were in a different part of the form).

Please undo the counter-productive abstinence-only budget policies about family planning.
These have driven the WHO and UNAIDS to promote circumcision to fight AIDS. Condoms are now shown to be 95 times as cost effective as circumcision at thwarting HIV.
Circumcision harms, it doesn't protect a man’s partner at all, and it doesn't prevent pregnancy.
CONDOMS - at about 3 cents each - are the best investment. Terminating a pregnancy must also be on the table in any rational policy.
