Happy Valentine's Day everyone!:

How is everyone feeling? I feel great despite being 4 days overdue and having no signs of action. We're going out for lunch today and then to a movie so that will take my mind off things for a while.

How are the new moms & babes doing?

Lucius is almost 2 weeks old now and he is just such a delightful baby. We had a photo shoot yesterday and I should get a sneak peek of a few photos in the next few days and get the full shoot in a couple weeks. I can't wait to see them! His belly button stump fell off a few days ago and yesterday morning he had his first bath. I've never seen a more relaxed baby. He loved it!

All of my pregnancy and immediate post-partum complaints are gone and I feel like a human being again. My SPD is all but gone, I'm not super engorged anymore and I actually have a ton of energy. My house is clean for once!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Awesome! I can't wait to have this baby and heal so that I have energy again. It's nice motivation for encouraging labor thinking about afterwards.

Thanks for starting another week.

I'm feeling pretty good. I have a rare contraction, but with increasing strenth. I have a little more energy and increasing pressure. Last night, I was up all night peeing and sitting in different positions because the baby was moving so much. I figured he was trying to get into position, so I did what I could to help him. He's not moving much today, so I hope he found his position. I can feel that he's dropped a lot and that feels so much better on my stomache...less heartburn.

I'm working on reading/math assessments for my 7yo daughter for our homeschool resource center. I realize that I've been severely neglectful in the math area for her! I'm ready to have my energy back so I can really get into her lessons with her. These assessments are pretty cool. I realize that she rocks in reading Not labor related, but still, it's what's going on today. This is her first "test" ever. I should do them more often...they're fun!

I'm thinking about you a lot birthworks, cause we truly are in the same boat with these stubborn 3rd babies choosing to be independent. Sounds like your labor may kickstart sooner than mine. I hope it is very very soon for you! Sounds like it really could blast off when it gets going.

My family walk seems to have increased pressure a ton, but not organized anything. And a long hot shower has just made me sleepy. Tried to check my cervix, and it has moved so far posterior again I can't find it. Not exactly the right direction... And no more signs of plug today so far. Poop!

You took like 1 oz, right? Isn't that on the low end of doses? I'd want to start slow too, if I were doing it. But I hear 2, 3 or even 4 oz are common dosages. I also hear it sometimes takes 4-6-12 hours to really get going too.

this newbie is also still pregnant! my guess date isn't til feb 27th but i'm 95% thinned out and one measly centimeter dilated so i think things are starting up. i have been having TONS of practice surges in the last few days but they always stop when i drink a lot of water, change my position, or have a shower or something so i'm not expecting to go that soon.

we had our last prenatal visit with our doula today and went through everything regarding the actual birthing. i feel like now that her appt is finished we are set for labour so i might start taking some initiative to get things going! mostly just the fun and easy stuff like having sex and eating pineapple though

i'm trying to enjoy these last few days even though they are tough to enjoy. the baby and i have a little thing where i put my hand on one side of my belly and baby pushes its foot against it. it is too cute and i know i will miss it when its over!

JesiLynne when I was trying to induce my labor with DS3 my midwife told me to take 4 oz. of castor oil every 8 hours.

I hope those of you still waiting have your sweet babies very soon. I wouldn't wish all the BH etc I had on anyone else.

We are doing well. She has an excellent appetite and is a very content baby. Other than the whole cold plus typical post partum exhaustion and soreness I feel good. I added a bunch of pictures of my newly extended family to my announcement thread. We had fun doing a little family photo shoot this afternoon on our bed.

i've heard of people rubbing castor oil on their belly instead of ingesting it. i've never done that..but so i've heard.

i am only 38 weeks today...hoping to stay pregnant at least through wednesday b/c i have a lot of stuff to get taken care of...lol!

I went to the pool to try and flip the baby and then had a nap. Not a very romantic valentine's day. My uterus seems irritable today but that is about it. I wish I could get the baby to drop.

I have stretch marks. I made it this far with no stretch marks and now like 4 or 5 significant ones appeared today. This bums me out more than I thought it would. I'm seeing my days of 2 piece swim suits coming to an end. Just two days ago a nurse said she didn't think my belly could stretch any further. Apparently she was right.

Little girl, it is time to come out.

I'm not sure my bum could handle another dose. It's been 7 hours, still have diarrhea and no contrax.

I'm trying to not be discouraged. It's obviously not time, though I do feel under a lot of pressure.

Oh, that's so wonderful to hear! I'm really expecting my usual take-forever-to-get-back-to-myself postpartum, but it's so nice to hear someone who's really bounced back after 2 weeks! I'm so glad things are going well for you! And I can't believe he's already 2 weeks old!!

JesiLynne- oh, I hope something gets going!

I'm cranky tonight, for no good reason. Heading up for a bath in a minute. Sleeping still isn't going well, I'm just uncomfortable and it's going on 5 nights tonight. I hope for a better night tonight. No restless leg, please. And last night I had to get up and take a tylenol for my carpel tunnel- very unusual!

Going to hang on 'till next Wednesday when my sisters and kids get here!

Hello ladies!

Royce and I are doing very well - he's a month old tomorrow!! I can't believe it! He is feeding well and we are very close to being completely weaned off the nipple shield. I haven't used it since yesterday and I'm so happy about that. He is also gaining weight well and is getting more and more alert.

Here's a pic of Royce from 2 days ago.

In other news, dh just got a new job which we are very excited about, however it is 4 hours away. I'm kind of freaking out about moving with such a new baby. Dh is going up this week to find us a place to live. I only want to have to make the trip with Royce once so I won't see this place until move in day. It's going to be a bit hectic for me over the next few weeks.

I also had a question: does the linea negra disappear eventually? It's been a month now and mine is still very visible. I was just curious...
Gillian- yes, it goes away, but mine always takes a long, long time! Like 6 months sometimes until it totally fades. Hopefully ours will all be gone by summer!
Glad your husband got a new job- and Royce looks great! Moving is going to be something with a new baby, but you'll do it!

I have been MIA for a while now, but I thought I'd check in to see how you all are doing. It's amazing to see how many babies have already been born!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is "overdue". I'm either 41 weeks 3 days or 40 weeks 6 days, depending on how you calculate the EDD. The worst part for me is trying to keep my fridge well-stocked and my house clean for the homebirth! At least crawling around on my hands and knees wiping up dust and crumbs is good for keeping the baby in the right position!
The line does eventually go away, it just takes time.

Also we are going to be moving in the next month or two as well. Not easy with 4 children . . . and one of them a newborn. We were going to be making a move back to our homestate, but now we are thinking we will probably stay local. We still have to move, though. We live in seminary housing right now, and dh graduated in December. So, we can only stay here a while longer. We need a bigger place, too.

I might just take my older boys up to my mom's while I am trying to pack.

Hey everyone, I accidentally posted on the old thread. I am now 2 days past my estimated due date. I was really hoping for a Valentine's Day baby. I had some really good strong contractions last night-- we actually called the midwife-- but nope, they faded. Arrgh! It's so annoying.

I am actually feeling a little depressed about it-- I wonder if my body isn't working or if I'm doing something wrong. I don't know anyone else who just starts and stops labor like this. WTH.

Anyway, trying to keep my spirits up. It's so hard to believe I'm really going to have a real baby soon. I suppose it must be true though . . .

Still here, still with the prodomal crap (every _4_ minutes last nite! still no baby! grrr), grumpy, tired, crampy, achy. Feeling resigned to being pregnant forever. sigh. The baby stuff is getting DUSTY! argh. Not at my due date yet (2/19), but anticipating the "time to induce" talk this week. Not sure if I'll fight it.
