I posted this in the January DDC as well because he was due in January but my little Ground Hog Day Baby had other plans! He wasn't going to come out until HE was ready!
We welcomed Mihailo V. on February 2, 2009
:
:. 7.12 ounces and 21 inches long.
He was initially expected on Jan 30, but the little guy had other plans! One of those plans was not to descend into the birth canal like he was supposed to!
: To make a long story short, after 24 hours of furiously walking around the hospital, bouncing on a birthing ball, having my water broken and my membranes manipulated, I ended up with a C-section (This after having two relatively easy natural deliveries for my girls!) Nothing about this birth process really went the way I expected it to, from the date I thought the little guy would come to how he came into this world. Luckily, after all the drama and the, to be honest, disappointing necessity of a C-section, he came out perfect....ten tiny fingers and toes, a head full of dark hair and the cutest little face (IMHO!)
Anyway, I think I was a little traumatized about the birth, not to mention the prolonged recovery it is taking, that I couldn't even bring myself to write about it. We are all doing well and are adjusting to life as a family of five. Big sisters (ages 7 and 4 yrs) are just thrilled with him and just can't keep their hands off of him.
: All in all, things worked out well and the end result is simply.....wonderful!
Congrats to all of you! Hope you are getting some sleep!
Enjoy your wonderful babes!!!
