I'm finding all the limitations quite frustrating, as I'm sure is the norm.

Well, yoga really stretches things down there so I am sure my not-used-much muscles are the big reason I was feeling it. That was the first time since my initial recovery that I had any pain down there.
I got pregnant 4 months after my first c-section. I had some minor pain in my incision area as the new baby got bigger, but nothing too serious.
I think it is important to be up and moving after a c-section, just have to watch how much stress you are putting on your abdomen. Just listen to what your body is telling you. If you are feeling particularly sore, it is best to rest. It is better to take it easy from the beginning, your recovery will be shorter overall if you don't do too much too fast.
