compliance monitoring - I see this as more doctors refusing to see patients who are not complying with the full vaccine schedule

support school-based - don't like this one at all. I should not have to pull my child out of school just for fear of him getting jabbed.

create and deliver consumer information - if this is anything like the VIS statements, they can keep it.

perinatal hepatitis B prevention program - what is this all about??

Also, does anyone know why Obama's election made Julie Gerberding resign?
I was following that....I'm still unclear if it's something that normally happens with a new administration (that and many other high-ranking jobs), or what.

The issue of whether vaccinations are actually helpful or harmful is hotly debated, of course. The pro-vaccine camp believes that the human immune system is a technological failure and that chemical intervention is the only way to protect children. The anti-vaccine camp believes that exposure to non-fatal infections actually strengthens the immune system, creating stronger protections against future infections. Thus, vaccines actually interfere with normal, healthy immune function while injecting children with dangerous chemicals and substances derived from sick, diseased animals.

I loved that!!!!!!!

Just another reason home school is looking better and better...

But... seeing how we can probably get a medical exemption because of adverse reactions to vax in the family, I could seriously get paid by the school if they jabbed my kid.

Although our family has chosen not to vaccinate yet, or possibly ever, it is an important health option that should be made available to people who feel the risks outweigh the benefits for their family. There are many families who have thoughtfully chosen to vaccinate.

I'm pretty sure that in VA all the "required" vaccinations for school enrollment are free at the Health Department. There are some that are "optional" for school that are required for travel that do have a cost. I can't speak for other states, but I seem to recall that's what the ladies at one of the health departments I visited said as of about a year ago.

Yeah. I can remember the whole grade below me getting vaccinated for something (not the foggiest clue what now...been around 11 years...one of the Heps stands out in my mind for some reason) when I was in middle school. It was at the school, everyone lined up to get vaccinated for it. My class didn't have to...just the 6/7th grade (can't recall which one now...I was in 8th)
