Hi all! So, we were all gung ho about foster parenting or foster-to-adopt; and started the application process in October. Well, now we'd rather adopt than foster. So, we want to get a homestudy and adopt a child from the foster care system. Our current homestudy (through the state here for foster care) is nowhere near complete (the worker is nice but moves at a snails pace- hasn't even taken our fingerprints or contacted our references yet!! ) so we are thinking of "cancelling" that one since we don't want to foster anymore; and getting one done by a private agency that we can use to adopt a child who is already in the fostercare system. Does that make sense?
We will probably end up adopting out of our state, so we need a home study agency that is accepted in all states- any advice or recommendations?
Thank You,
Kristi
