There is a diaper service in my area, and I think our parents plan to get us a month of it each, which will be nice since we may move after 2 months and right now would use apt. laundry to wash. The service will wash your own diapers or you can use theirs, and I had planned on getting GMD newborn orange pfs, but my mom commented that you may not want them washing your diapers, just use theirs. If I do that, there is no reason to buy that size now, but now is the time when we have more money to buy them. With the next baby, money will be much tighter. What would you do?

OK, thanks!
They have price ranges from 40 diapers a week to 80, in increments of 10. How many should I expect the first month? Any less if we do a second month?Trying to weigh cost of quarters for laundry vs. the service after the first month (mom buying first month).

i would buy a doz of my own....then get 10 per day to start out from the service.....that will probably be plenty and if you run out you can use a few of your own and just throw them in with your reg laundry. you can use them for burp cloths and to lay in the crib to protect sheets etc.
thats what i would do.

I've heard that because of the way they wash, they go through diapers way faster than you would (worn out in a matter of months instead of years), so I'd definitely go with theirs.

Per the pp, I may get a dozen of my own as backup and for burp cloths but plan on having 10 a day.
Thanks! This will be so helpful being in an apartment.
