Too late to slow down/delay

DS 3 is almost 10 months old. DS 1 and DS 2 were vaccinated right on schedule according to whatever the pediatrician told us. No issues with them at all and I've never questioned until now.

DS 3 is coming up on his one year vacs and I am nervous - which is unusual for me. I am currently just starting my actual research and started reading here.

I've read some in the vac schedule sticky and have heard numerous people say that to get real benefit from delaying vacs don't start with them at 6 months.

I'm well past that and wondering if there is any benefit to him if I slow things down now?

Please let me know the pros to delaying at this point, and also if I am past my golden window of benefit for him.

Of course it's not too late. It is never too late.

Think of it this way....if you smoke everyday for the last 5 years and then thought hmmm maybe I should cut down but Ive been smoking for 5 years so maybe there is no point. Of course it would still be beneficial to cut down.

Not the best analogy, but my point is that so your LO has had some shots...ok his immune system is still probably finding a way to deal with the burden of his 6 month shots, so delaying or slowing down at any point can only be beneficial IMO. I don't think a parents should ever let her baby have shots if they are unsure about them or "are nervous". At least delay anymore until you feel you have throughly researched this issue and can feel comfortable either moving forward or stopping. Good luck!!

I agree with Marnica. I also think you should follow your heart. if you are uneasy right now, I would wait until you are comfortable again before continuing. IDK I tend to trust my "gut feeling" when I'm unsure of things.

Another thing to consider - just because vaxs are typically given on a set schedule, determined by the CDC poster, doesn't mean that they can't be given on a different one. So, don't feel like you have to decide by the 12 month appointment. If you get to the 12 month appointment, and still aren't sure, then just wait and research more. If after all your research you decide you want to go back to vaxing, you don't have to "start over" again, and it is ok to have more time in between vaxes than the typical CDC schedule.

So - welcome! Get ready to do a lot of fascinating reading about vaccination! There's lots of great posts here, and knowledgeable mamas to help answer questions.

Vaccines are very dangerous medicine. Your children have not had a noticeable reaction, thank heavens, but it is never to late to stop injecting foreign substances into the children. You never know when the child's cup is full or when he is going to react.

I would say it is never too late to start researching and questioning something that is so toxic.

If I were you, I would simply not give another vaccine, ever. Period.

Welcome to this forum and I do hope you stick around.

Oops, I misread your post. I didn't see that you had a newborn.

Please just cancel the appointment and research, research, research.

Congratulations on the new baby and the best to him.

I am a grandmother to two completely vaccine-free and one partially vaccinated (oldest) grandsons.
