Superhero fabric... not licensed characters?? where?

I'm thinking of making a quilt formy sons birthday. Trying to get started early.
He loves superheros & i've been searching for some kind of superhero fabric. The only things i've found so far are licensed character themes , which i don't want. I just want generic superheros. I saw some sheets at The company kids that had superheros on them, but i don't want to buy expensive sheets to make a quilt KWIM?

anyone have a source for cool kids fabrics??? tia

If he has drawn a bunch of superheros, you could use spoonflower and get fabric with his superheros on it. Or ones you drew It can be somewhat expensive though, at least compared to standard quilting or kona cotton. (Its kona cotton I think.)

I can't believe I have never heard of Spoonflower. Thank you so very, very much for suggesting it to the OP. I can't wait to have some fabrics made from pictures my kids draw.
