more night time diapering questions

my dd is almost 8 months and at 7 months we changed to disposables at night as she was soaking through our happy heineys with 2 hemp and one microfiber inserts.

I just got wool super soakers and prefolds and a fitted type diaper, see the link- http://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=94
and I also put a hemp insert from my happy heiney. Anyways, after 7 hours (she usually sleeps for 12 without a change), there was wicking onto her clothes, even though parts of the hemp and prefold were not wet at all. I am going crazy (and my husband is pretty much over spending money on the diapers....) What am I doing wrong, or what can I do to help her not leak?

i put a folded prefold in a thirsties cover then 2 more prefolds in a newspaper fold, the make the wrap tight around her thighs and waist. no leaks. and DD is a heavy wetter. maybe you need a diff wrap.

Makes me wonder if you need to strip your diapers? For us, it works well enough to turn up the hot water heater and run several extra rinses on extra extra hot. That has worked well inthe past. I just wonder if you aren't getting maximum absorption from your dipes. Could also be a fit issue, that things aren't snug enough around the legs or waist.

Did you lanolize your wool?

They were supposedly pre-lanolized and are only supposed to need it 4 times a year. I guess I could strip them, how often should I do that. I have had them for about 5 months.
