Survivor is my favorite show. *anonymous* I thought I was the only one!

Didn't realize it started this week until after the show had aired here. I'll start this week.

Love Survivor! It's hard for me to have much to say this early on, though, before I've had a chance to figure out who I love and hate.

I watched it and am really looking forward to more episodes. The old lady was pretty lucky there was someone more annoying than her, or she would have been first to go. Does that mean she didn't find the idol? If she finds it later can she use it in other tribal councils?

i almost felt bad for the older lady. seriously, you don't know what ten paces is (approx?) or can't see the lone palm tree? yikes!
i agree that it's hard to know who's who at this point. it'll be interesting to see how this shapes up.

I watch also! This is the one reality show that I would love to be on if I could. Anyways, I was thinking the same thing, how in the world can you not see that one palm tree standing there right in front of you. There are some interesting people this time around it is going to be a good one.

I wonder if she was just incredibly nervous. Or maybe she was reading too much into the clues. I just found it hard to imagine that she didn't know what a "pace" was.

In all, the first episode was enjoyable. I'm not really liking or hating anyone right now. Just waiting to see how they shape up as teams. They didn't pick their own teams this time, right?

Does anyone know what the animal is during the intro to Survivor this year that is in the water? It kind of looks like a pig, but with a funny mouth/nose.

My kids want to know, and I've been googling, but apparently I'm not a very good googler. :

I think you may be talking about the Capybara. It is the biggest rodent on earth. I DVR and skip the beginning most times so I may be wrong but I remember seing the capybara on there. The only other animal I can think of would be the Tapir. It looks like a giant black pig with a long snout. Now I need to go and watch to see which one it is!

Seriously, I have never ever missed an episode of Survivor, love this show, and I had NO IDEA it was even on!!!!!!! I happened to see something about it on another website when I was reading about Top Chef.

I'm going to have to go back and watch it! How many eps did I miss??

I think both the tapir and capybara are shown at the beginning of the show, I noticed them last night, before I saw this thread.

Just 2 - last week and last night.

Thanks! It was the tapir that the kids were curious about. although i think the capybara is also in the intro, too.

The capybara looks like a big, longer-legged beaver about the size of a medium dog. I only know this because we've been spending a LOT of time at the zoo lately, and the capybaras are in the same house as the elephants that we hang out observing!

Sooooooooo, anyone watch the past couple weeks?

I was sorry to see Jerry go I really liked him and thought he had potential to win, if he hadn't gotten sick.

I was also disappointed Sandy got voted out; she did add comic relief! It's annoying when they keep the eye candy around, when they clearly admitted that Sandy was stronger in the challenges.

Love Taj et al's secret alliance! I hope they go far, although it looks like their secret may be out next week.

Taj is hilarious. But I think that she and the other guy chose the wrong people for their alliance. That will probably be the cause of their failure.
