What would you say to them?

Just got an email that Infection Control is coming around this week at work to give Dtap, Flu, and TB test to everyone.

I think I am going to play dumb and just ask if they know the side effects because I am 'a little nervous'. Ask them if they know statistics of the effectiveness. Unless they know these answers to a T, they should not be injecting people! Of course, thats not how things work. And I plan on saying it doesn't sound safe right now, no thanks!

What would you say to them, I need more ideas

Do you mean infection control at your job? I'm not quiye sure I know what you are talking about.

If it is at your job I wouldn't say anything except Ill pass thanks. If they try and force you unless it was specifically in the papers you signed as a condition of employment than they can't make you do squat.

I work in a HCF and they try making me do TB, Hep A and B blah blah blah. I just refuse thats all.

where do you work? I would raise a holy fuss if I was you. just short of a riot.

If its your kids school I would just keep them home that day.

Just tell them you have a religious opposition to vaccines and TB testing.

Hospital.

I want to take advantage of the opportunity to question their decision to give out shots, while we are working no less. (Its not like an optional clinic that is set up where you can go if you choose to have them done. This is pressure, on the floor, with patients all around and staff!)

I wonder if society's thoughts about side effects of vaccines would change if adults started getting boosters. What if they got the high fevers and other side effects. Would they change their mind about injecting babies with them??

How do you get out of the TB test? Just refuse? Isn't it mandatory testing? Enlighten me.

What state are you in?

I doubt you're going to have any luck "enlightening" anyone, I'd just refuse the jabs on religious grounds and go about your business.

If you can't get out of the TB test (in some states it doesn't fall under the same exemption laws as vaccines), request the Quantiferon Gold TB test. It's a blood test, and nothing is injected.

I tried to request the blood test and my employer refused it. They told me I could go to my doctor and request it, but we are currently uninsured and paying for it out of pocket is not possible. They also told me if I refused the TB test that I would be terminated.

I live in CA and work as a Lamaze Instructor.

Don't know if it will help at all, but I found this:

Your local health jurisdiction's tuberculosis control office can give you more information about testing requirements specific to your community.
