I think we might homeschool in M style this fall. Tuition is just a stretch. Has anyone done this? I'd love to hear.

There are some good resources on it. Here is one of the more popular ones:

We just started Montessori homeschooling. There are a bunch of really nice blogs, and I have found the early childhood learning forum on the 4real learning site to be great. It's both Catholic and Charlotte Mason oriented, but it has the biggest group of Montessori homeschoolers I've founds, including Lori from the Montessori for Everyone website. There are also several yahoo groups to help you figure out how to do things at home and make some of your own materials, as well.

I am HS Montessori method at home. I am overall making our home Montessori friendly. But we do have a bookshelf that holds 12 diff. kinds of work. They are all set up like you would see in a Montessori classroom..on trays and in baskets etc. My son is free to choose which work he wants to do. He's really into pouring right now. At three we are focusing on P.L. But I did purchase Sandpaper lower case letters. I wanted those to be truly correct. But I have made or put together all the rest of the material. We currently have beading work, pouring (several kinds), lacing, sandpaper tablets, sandpaper letters, matching, sorting, spooning and I'd have to go look at the rest to remember.
He really enjoys doing his work and I have found that is 17 month old brother does to. I usually give him things with lids to take on and off and spooning beans.
It is never going to be exactly the same as in the classroom. I do not have a sink that is my childs height. I don't have other students of different ages to engage him in different things and show him new work or peak his curiousity to the next level. I have to do all that.

It has taken a lot of time and reading and learning for me to figure it all out. I am extremely fortunate to have my BFF getting her Montessori teacher training right now. So I talk to her a lot. She has explained so much to me and it has made all the difference.

One book I recommend is: "Teaching Montessori In The Home, The Preschool Years" by Elizabeth G. Hainstock.
It's a great starting point.

Good luck and I am always up for more discussion on this. I am very excited to be doing this with my children.
