Susan Axelrod on Morning Joe for Epilepsy. What do you think causes it?

I saw David Axelrod's wife, Susan, on a morning news program discussing a foundation called CURE to find a cure for epilepsy. Just wondering all of your thoughts on what causes epilepsy. I for one think it is a response to vaccines. Susan said on the show "One day my daughter was fine and the next day she started having seizures." I so want to ask her if her daughter had any vaccines right before the seizures started?

I often find myself wondering if people like Susan and others who start these foundations EVER question vaccines? It seems so obvious in my mind yet I am amazed that most folks never go down that road?

So what are your thoughts? What do you think causes epilepsy?

I have no idea on epilepsy, but I always have those kind of questions too and wish they would be more specific on the chain of events. I have a hard time supporting any special cause unless I know what kind of studies they are looking into. If they are not investigating environmental things at least in part, I feel I would be wasting my money, especially if it is something that has increased in the past years (I don't know if that is the case with epilepsy). I think it will be harder to find a cure if they don't know the cause.

Our pediatrician said to give her one-quarter of an adult dose of a cold medication, and it knocked her out immediately. I didn't hear from Lauren the rest of the night. In the morning, I found her gray and limp in her crib. I thought she was dead.

They didn't know that two-thirds of those diagnosed with epilepsy had seizures defined as "idiopathic," of unexplained origin, as would be the case with Lauren

Ah, seems like quite a strong coincidence to me! I totally see the parallels between this and vaccine injuries that doctors brush off. How can they possibly know that a small dosage of an adult cold medicine could not have caused this?? They can't, there is no way to tell who is going to react to what.
