Sandpaper letters - left-handed

We just opened a set of much-anticipated D'Nealian sandpaper letters to find that they are intended for right-handed learners. There's so much more room on the left side and it's such a visual trigger to hold the card with your left hand. Blah.

Anyone have any neutral or left-handed D'Nealian sandpaper letters? I must re-order. I'm disappointed. The picture and the description on the website don't indicate there is any handedness on the cards. Oh, what a righty world we live in. Even Montessori is not immune.

My ds is left-handed. I'm pretty sure the sandpaper letters in his classroom are neutral - nothing different on each side - I think they're a square. It's too bad I didn't see this question before I left - I was just in his classroom a few minutes ago (rare occasion). My ds had so many sensory issues that he didn't use the sandpaper letters for a long time; that's all I can remember about them.

Thanks, snowmom5. I was really surprised when I opened them. I anticipated neutral placement. I suppose for most people it's not an issue. I listed them on craigslist for half price and someone snapped them up in less than an hour.

I'm still looking for a brand/style that is neutral. A friend of ours has a set that is neutral.... from some 20 years ago. Anyhow I know there must be some out there. I just don't want another surprise. It's too costly.

I'm wondering if this isn't related to the fact that they are D'Nealian? I think D'Nealian has a fairly heavy slant. Perhaps you might find traditional print to be more neutral?

If you are still having trouble finding something, then I totally recommending talking to Michele at Polliwog Learning Products. We decided to go with italic font, and she did a very nice custom order for us for both sandpaper letters (on birch instead of melamine) and a moveable alphabet. She was very easy to work with and most accommodating. Perhaps she could help figure something out that would work for you? Her prices are very reasonable, as well, IMO. I contacted her through her etsy shop.

Good luck!
