Off the grid, desert living mama needs diapering advice.

I've been happily using bumgenius since my son was born. We started some part-time EC at 6 months, which is going well, but not well enough for me to swear off diapers.

We've recently moved to a remote off-the-grid facility in the desert with very limited water. The BGs just aren't an option anymore because they need 2 wash cycles to get them clean. I don't know if it is possible to continue with cloth, but I'd like to if I can. It is hard to find disposables in this area that don't stink to high heaven like baby powder and all of those give my son rashes.

Any ideas on diapers that meet the following criteria:
1. The have to be able to hang out dirty for 5/7 days between washes
2. The must be thourghly clean with one wash (we've got great hot water)
3. If you can pull them on/off like training pants all the better. My son hates to lay down for diaper changes and the ability to pull them off helps to get him on the potty in time.

Any ideas?

I've used Mother-Ease AIOs with the conditions you have specified. The ME Sandy's or Blue Penguin fitteds might work, too, with ME Air-Flow covers, or Bummis Whisper Pants.

We do EC with our babies, and use a single wash, sometimes going 4-5 days betweens washings. I use a combo. One system: flats (easily cleaned with one wash) in wrap-style covers (easy-off). Other system: Gerber trainers. Two pairs on at once absorb a whole pee, but separate to wash easily, and are pull-downable. I use them under wool covers, which need very little laundering-- maybe every three weeks or so, but then I have maybe six to rotate.
