The stimulus package will help out with Cobra:

Under the stimulus package, the government will pick up 65 percent of the total cost of that premium for the first nine months.

Thought there might be some mommas who would find this info helpful.

That's great! I looked up my employers COBRA information and the insurance I currently pay 150/month for would be $800/month if unemployed and using COBRA, WOW! That would sink me so fast, but my son and I cannot be uninsured, we have too many issues.

This is great news, in this time of economic uncertainty.

Considering the fact that my husband's job is cutting off his insurance at the end of May, and I am due at the beginning of July...well let's say I did the happy dance all over the house when I heard about this.

We were thrilled as we are paying $800/month right now (and that's a bargain! part of his layoff package included a modified COBRA payment).

When does this happen????

There doesn't seem to be any specific info on when and how. I would maybe call your insurance carrier and see if they have any info yet.

I think this is fantastic! When we had to pay for COBRA it was crushing.

Too bad it only covers people laid off after September. I got laid off in August.

I would be so curious about the details of this. We have a strange situation and are currently on COBRA, but have access to other group coverage so I wonder if that will disqualify us?

I'm wondering if anyone heard if Mini-COBRA is covered?
