Dying a wrap?

Hi,

I have a BBO on the way to me which is a Didymos Natural Indio cotton / linen mix made into a Mei Tei. I'd like to dye it a kind of salmon or coral color. I've never dyed anything before and know nothing about it. Is there any guideance someone can offer as to products to use and procedures?

http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/en...lnav=dyes.html they work nicely in linen/cotton, and one is called coral pink.

There are instructions on there, but here's what I do:
Wash the item in synthropropyl so no residues get in the way of the dye, then take it out of the machine.
Fill the washing machine up to a small, warm load.
Add the non iodized salt.
Add the dye.
Let it get mixed up with the agitation.
Add the item to be dyed, let it agitate a couple minutes.
Add the soda ash fixer.
Run the washing machine 30 minutes-ish, turning the knob to restart the time before it reaches the drain and rinse stuff. If you have to reach in to turn it over or push in back under, wear dishwashing gloves.
Once the time is up, let it finish the washing/rinsing cycles, then run the wash again with synthropropyl to remove excess dye. Then dry.

Thank you so much! I have a front loading HE machine. Will that work for these instructions? I can go to my MIL's house if I need a top loader as long as the dye wouldn't stain her machine?

Front loader won't work I don't think. It doesn't stain on mine so long as I wipe off the drips that splash on the lid and such. You can do it in a big bucket if you stir it yourself every few minutes but it's a pain in the butt.
