I can put it over a fitted or pf, right? But how do I take care of it? I got it at a CD "yard sale" at Cottonbabies.

Wash cold as needed. Air out between wearings. Lanolize to start with & after washes by filling a sink with warm/cool water with a little lansinoh swished in, let soak 10-30 minutes, roll in towel to press out excess water & lay out to dry.

Lansinoh, like the stuff I put on my nipples?

Also, how often do I need to wash it?

How often you wash your wool depends on how you use it/how often. We rotate ours with a multiple other covers. I wash mine when it gets poop on it or starts to smell funky. Or if it seems like it's just been a long time. : ) I like to use Eucalan wool wash (no rinse) - I often don't need to lanolize besides that, but some people still need to lanolize separately.

Yes, the same lansinoh you use for your nipples.

I just got some wool wash and wool conditioner (to lanolize) at the birth center in Chapel Hill. They're the Imse Vimse brand stuff and have directions to wash with wool wash as needed and then to lanolize once a month. There are directions for the washing machine or hand washing - I have some wool covers in the wash right now actually. I've also heard from people that you can get the lanolizing stuff at any good fabric store and if you google there are some directions I saw online about how to lanolize with lansinoh - I think it was something about breaking it up in hot water and then soaking the covers in it overnight - not sure exactly though.

Thanks! I'm going to start stalking you to see if you are still around! When is baby due?

Thanks all! It is cold this week and these longies look cozy. I'll have to give them a try.
