Bolding mine.

I can't take that seriously, either!

I certainly don't think that everyone's on the same page about everything, but I sure agree with you on that point. It is that very concept that helped prompt me to start this thread.

The thing is, until recently, "athiest" was used almost exclusively as a perjorative term, as a way of minimizing and disrespecting the beliefs of others, no matter how complex or sophisticated they may have been.
Sorry, I just wanted to add - it is still that way. There is a tremendous amount of prejudice allowed towards atheists in the US. It may be better now than in Thomas Jefferson's day, perhaps, but it is still very very real.

I'm an atheist. I don't believe in anything supernatural. I don't worship anything. I'm not very scientifically minded (thank goodness for DP, hahah) but i believe in things that can be proven (through science). I don't have faith...well, in myself i do i suppose

Well, I cant speak for anyone else, but for me...I'm an atheistic pagan, in that I can relate to the mother nature/father sun aspects of paganism but I see it as purely symbolic.
I would post more, maybe later..... the kids are chomping at the bit...
