Warning, might contain movie info - stop reading if you don't want to have the movie ruined!

Anyone else see LOTR today? Wanna talk about it?

Tolkien's elves don't require sleep. They "meditate" occasionally but I don't know if they co-meditate.:LOL

I saw the movie!! YEAY!!! We can use spoiler tags ifwe don't want to spoil the ones who haven't.

Saw it this morning!!! Genius!!! I want to watch it again! I feel like there was too much to take in in one shot! I can't imagine how long the extended version will be. (cause you know there will be one!
They have already put out the word that the extended will be 55 minutes longer! Haven't seen RotK yet but I think DH and I will try next week or just after Christmas.

I had 4 tix for a super large screen old fashioned theatre (with balcony) for this morning. but DH and I are sick and can't go. I am so sad! Everyone else acts like I'm the mean person, but I wanted to see it more than them! I trudged through the slush to get the tix! GRRRRRRR. Husbands and sisters. At least I got my mom to say, "oh, sweetie, I know you're disappointed." But I had to tell her to say it!

I couldn't wait any longer and I read a scene by scene spoiler.

Clarity - you must be sooo miserable! Not only are you sick but you had to miss the movie! that just stinks!

I have never wanted to see a movie as bad as this in my entire life. Its like some kind of obsession. Last night a friend offered to babysit, so my DH and I got everything ready, figured out what theatre, cleaned up the house, bathed the kids, etc etc.... and then when we told the babysitter it was a 3.5 hour long movie, he backed out! NOT FAIR!!! I was so dissapointed that I ended up having dreams that I was with Elijah Wood debating the book vs. movie.
:LOL Oh well, maybe tomorrow night.

Hilary, I was exhausted but glad with how many things were portrayed.

Ya, there was no Houses Of Healing but I am thinking that will be on the extended version.

WHINING!!!!

So, yesterday my Brother, who I rearely spend time with, called and offered to take me to see ROTK. Well, DH tried to object, but eventually said OK and when my bro and I got to the theater, it was......SOLD OUT!!!! And it was the last showing for the night. We didn't think that it would be sold out on the day after it was released. Should have pre purchased our tix, I guess.

ARGH!!!!!

I was so frustrated I came home and made my DH watch the Two Towers Extended Edition again.

Oh well, we are going to try tonight. Dh and I found a sitter so maybe the third times the charm?

I hope so!

Oh no!! I hope tonight goes better. We're still sick so no rotk for us...

Woo Hoo!!!!

We got to go!!!

What a rockin movie. I had such a great time. I only wish my kids were old enough to see it in the theaters now, but I just don't think my 5 yo could handle all the violence. I was very drained when the movie was over. So much info to absorb. There were some things that I found frustrating when compared to the books,

Like the fact that the Shire was the same as when they left and you never saw Sauroman and Wormtongue again. And the house of the healing scene better be in the EE.

I wonder what Tolkien would think of it??

I can't wait to go see it again! I know there are things I missed.

brookelyash - those were the things I was missing too! I would love it if both were in the EE!

I'm so jealous of all of you that have seen it. I've watched the first two at least a dozen times each and have been waiting, waiting, waiting for this one. But, I can't afford to go. I know I'll be able to go after Christmas, but I want to see it NOW!!!

My sign-in name on my MSN Messenger is "Will someone PLEASE take me to see LOTR???"

*sigh*

PS -- There is a "what do you want for Christmas?" thread on here and I was just thinking that I already know the one and only thing I want for Christmas next year: the entire trilogy of extended versions on DVD. I know at least a dozen people who would be into a marathon home viewing!

(I am going to be so GOOD next year! lol)

well, I am glad that they left in my favorite part, .

when the eagles come with Gandolf to resuce the hobbits off of the mountain

It just seems fitting that in the end, nature fights off the tide of industry.

I also wish that my 4 year old could see it, but as it is, she thinks that the movies are about 2 princesses (mommy edits with the DVD player). And in the first one, the screaming of the ring wraths really scaried her, and this one was even worse for that. IMO.

Great movie tho, can't wait for it to be at the Bagdad (for those not blessed with living in Portland the Bagdad is a movie theater where you can order beer, pizza and watch a movie on the cheap).

Victorian - that part was so beautiful - the music, I really started crying at that point. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Maybe I could get dh to see it again if I could promise him beer at the Baghdad!!

I'll drive back to Portland and buy you both a beer to go see it.

DH and I moved to Burns and we have to drive 2 hrs to Bend to see it or wait until it comes here (Probably February as slow as it takes over here). We are frothing at the bit to go see it and how perfect would it be with pizza and beer? HMMMMM?
