Our Friday the 13th surprise home delivery!

Olivia was born Friday the 13th at 12:22am weighing 9 lbs 1 0z, 21 inches long, after 35 minutes of labor. I woke up at 11:45 with cramping that I thought was just a bathroom call. Didn't take long to realize it was stronger than just that! Woke up DH around midnight and let him know we weren't going to make it very far. DH called 911, unlocked the front door, grabbed towels, and caught his baby girl in his arms, on the floor of our bathroom!

The paramedics arrived not long afterwards to say congrats and pack us up for a trip to the local hospital for help with placenta issues. We are both just fine now!

It has been a hectic few days just processing what has happened and trying to get a routine established.

I joked about having this baby at home in my bathroom! We had a hard time finding an OB who would work with me as a VBAC. Well, best laid plans......So much for my intricately planned hospital birth 1.5 hours away! WE ended up at the ANTI-VBAC hospital close to home with a nervous doctor. He just didn't know what to do with me....Oh Well! Everyone is healthy and recovering just fine. Nursing is a challenge, but we expected that and are working through it.

It has been fun reading everyone's stories, and I am glad to finally have one to share!

Saw your story on the VBAC side. I think it's fabulous although probably a little frightening that your VBAC was so quick with no complications.
