Our hs group meets sporadically in the winter, but come May we kick into high gear. We run group days where everyone contributes something. Last year we did a summer long science day. Each of us would take turns teaching/running the activity for that week - covering a topic on biology. So we are planning on doing something similar this summer.
I'm interested in doing something more activity/craft based and less academic. But I've got February Brain Atrophy and no inspiration.
So what would you do? 6-10 kids, age range 5-13 (The little ones tend to participate in their own way or go play), 4 to 8 "classes" worth. Outdoor stuff is great, crafts, activities. It just needs to be linked together with some kind of "theme". And the "theme" can be unique to me, it's not something that has to tie in to what other people in the group are contributing. That's what we did last summer but we are all open to doing it another way.
Our planning meeting is next month and I'd like to have a rough idea of what I'd like to contribute over the summer. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
