Anyone else dilated?

I'm 37 +3 and feeling very full! My mw told me today after doing a stretch and sweep that I'm about 2cms dilated. Whoop! I was practically begging for the sweep so even though it wasn't comfy I'm pleased to know the contractions I've been getting aren't all for nothing.

Anyone else?

I have no idea, they wanted to check me yesterday but I declined only because I felt really sick and I have an ingrown hair down there from shaving @@ and it hurts.

I'm at 3-4cm (depending on if a man or woman check me) and 100% effaced... my water bag is bulging and I'm having the worlds worst contractions (can't walk or talk through them anymore) every night for about 4 hours (every 10 mins) then they go away. WTF??? I'm at my wits end over here. I'm only 36w3d but I have been in preterm labor since 24w so we fully expected me to go early. I'm just happy to have made it to this point. However now, I am so frustrated with my contractions and the fact that they don't GO ANYWHERE!! Ugh, sorry I just had to rant for a few mins, I'm sleep deprived. I'm gonna go take a nap.

I have no idea and won't be finding out until I'm in labor and they absolutely have to check me. I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow but I can tell by the way I feel that I'm probably not dilated at all yet.

naahh, probably not.

I was in labor for over 12 hours last time, and was only at 2-3 cm! It may be different this time, but I'm just 34 wk 1 d, so . . . in for the long haul!

I had the MW do a quick check last week when she did the GBS swab, just because I was curious. I was 50% effaced and a solid 3 cm at 37 weeks. I had an appointment today, but I didn't see any reason to be checked further. Last time I walked around for at least a week (it was a confirmed week, but could have been longer because I hadn't had a previous check for several weeks before that) with 4 cm, 100% effaced and bulging waters.

I too had my CNM check after she did the GBS swab... she said 1cm, 50% effaced, and soft. I don't think I'll have any more checks, though, until the real deal.

Last time around starting at 36 weeks (coming off bedrest) I dilated about a cm a week and was 5 cm the day before I went into labor! I was 7cm when I got to the hospital after about 8 hours of labor...

I am about 3 - 4 cm and 50 % effaced. That is normal for me at this point (35 wks) since my 2nd birth.

I have no idea. I had my GBS swab on Friday (it was negative, yay!) and the midwife checked my cervix manually to be sure the baby was head-down (it is), but she couldn't reach it well enough to determine anything else. I had another appointment today, but the midwife didn't check or even mention it. My next appointment is in a week, at 39 weeks, 1 day. Should I be concerned that they're not checking me?

I have no idea. last time i checked I was half a cem and that was at 36 weeks.

At 35 weeks on the dot, 1 cm dilated. CNM checked while she was doing the GBS swab. She didn't mention, and I didn't think to ask, anything about effacement. She had a pretty far reach to get to my cervix, and it was a little uncomfortable for me. I don't expect any more checks until labor is well under way, hopefully not for 5ish more weeks!

at my 38 week appt today, i was 100% effaced and still a fingertip dilated. i wasn't going to have her check me but there was a concern about scar tissue preventing me from dilating. sure enough, she went in and had to break it apart manually - so i got a stretch and sweep. i am now a loose 1-2, and totally effaced.

also noticed a little blood this evening but i'm almost 100% sure that it was from all that digging around in there today.

As of yesterday I am 3-4 cm dilated and 80% effaced.

Wow, everyone is a lot further along!

I am 1 cm. 50% effaced. Which is like what I was last time around up til I went into labor after my due date. I'm in no rush though

No clue. Every so often I have an urge to ask h to check, but it goes away again almost immediately.

I checked myself a couple of weeks ago, and I was at what felt like about 1cm & very soft. I haven't checked since out of fear of getting germs up there or doing something bad. LOL. My midwife doesn't do regular cervical checks.

No, it's not necessary because really in the end it means nothing. With my ds I walked around for 5 days(maybe more) 5cm dilated, 85% effaced and with a bulging bag of waters before he decided to come out on his due date...so it truly doesn't mean anything(I was 3cm dilated, 80% effaced at 36 weeks, 4cm dilated and same effacement at 37 and 38 weeks). I like to know because I find it encouraging to know my body is doing something but even if you aren't dilated or effaced at all you could still go into labor at any moment.

Oh and I haven't been checked yet...probably will be at my appt on Monday when I have my GBS test.
