Is there anything you can do to sway their vote so the bill doesn't go through today?

Contact Reps:
Call the legislative telephone message center at 1-888-NDLEGIS (635-3447) or 701-328-3373 (local). Otherwise, a legislator can be reached by mail, telephone, or e-mail at the address listed in the legislator's bio under Legislative Assembly.

And email Reps, listed here when you click on each one's name, map at the top of the page to help determining what district you're in:

Thank you!
Every other bill has been defeated the past 8 years, but, since there is the embarrassment that ND is one of two states left, they might pass it since it's so useless just to get something on the books.

They did not have session yesterday, there were not enough people to make the quorums, so we still have time to contact our representatives.

Be sure to tell your representatives that you do not support this bill because it is ineffective as a law and will cause more harm than good and decrease breastfeeding rates.
1) modesty and discretion are hopelessly subjective;

2) there is no way to enforce the ability to breastfeed in public; and

3) there are no workplace protections for pumping mothers.

The purpose of this bill has been stripped. The current bill gives all the power to businesses and those who have issues and hangups about breastfeeding. This law will cause more harm than benefit.

Also, if this concerns you, and you did contact your legislators, please let me know, email me at bismamas@gmail.com. We will need to work together next session whether this bill is passed as it is for it desperately needs amending, or if it doesn't pass, we mothers will have to be more proactive and work together to make our legislators be accountable and hear us, their constituents.

Thank you!

I just wanted to say how great you are mama! You are working so hard on this. I completely understand the amount of work it takes! So just a pat on the back in case you haven't given yourself one lately.

If there is anything you think out of state folks can do to help let us know!

Peace and good luck!

Thank you! I appreciate the encouraging words and thoughts and prayers so much. It has taken over for the last couple months and either way it goes, it will take more time over the next two years.

If you have any in-state relatives you can convince to help support, that is great. If you know moms who care about this and live in-state, please, please, please, have them contact me, bismamas@gmail.com.

We really need to pull together and let the legislators know that they can't ignore the women who put them in office to pay attention to business owners with money. Unfortunately, in some cases, I believe that's what it's come down to.

The House passed the amended bill. I'm rather amazed, since the legislature is so conservative. I'm not sure what to think.
