They did not have session yesterday, there were not enough people to make the quorums, so we still have time to contact our representatives.
Be sure to tell your representatives that you do not support this bill because it is ineffective as a law and will cause more harm than good and decrease breastfeeding rates.
1) modesty and discretion are hopelessly subjective;
2) there is no way to enforce the ability to breastfeed in public; and
3) there are no workplace protections for pumping mothers.
The purpose of this bill has been stripped. The current bill gives all the power to businesses and those who have issues and hangups about breastfeeding. This law will cause more harm than benefit.
Also, if this concerns you, and you did contact your legislators,
please let me know, email me at
bismamas@gmail.com. We will need to work together next session whether this bill is passed as it is for it desperately needs amending, or if it doesn't pass, we mothers will have to be more proactive and work together to make our legislators be accountable and hear us, their constituents.
Thank you!
