anyone have this book who can help? (How to Raise a Healthy Child)

I just asked a question in the health and healing forum, I hope that was the right place, but I forgot to add something. I typically only visit this forum (vaccinations) because of lack of time, and this is my main interest right now, but I've recently started visiting the others.

Anyway, I've seen quite a few people from this vaccination forum mention a particular book they felt was helpful: How to Raise a Healthy child in Spite of your Doctor .. unfortunately, I didn't get the book yet ..

Could anyone double check in the book for me, and let me know if it has any information about "ear infections" or "antibiotic use" - specifically in 16 month old?

Here is my question about my son:

CAn anyone tell me what you would do in this situation (or what you have done in a similar situation)

His vax status (in case anyone is curious) is he is selectively vaxed - he's had the complete set (1st three) of DTaP (3/5/7 months). In addition to those, he's had one other - a single hib at 3.5 months (but I changed my mind after this, and he did not receive others with the exception of the rest of the DTaP series.)

Is there anything in that book about vaccinations by the way? It's one I had marked down, I wanted to get, but haven't gotten around to buying a copy yet! I do have 4 or 5 vaccine books that are helpful, but they don't have info about ear infections or antibiotics.

Personally, I would hold off on the antibiotics and buy the book. There is a ton of extremely helpful information in it, all for only $8 (way less than a co-pay). There is also quite a bit of information on vaccines and the diseases that they are vaxing against.

The 1984 edition basically says antibotics show only slight improvement in the quickness of the infection/pain disappearing. He doesn't prescribe antibotics for ear infections, only maybe if there is pus (1% of all cases). He recommends a warm compress, two drops of heated (not hot) olive oil and acetaminaphen.

Please feel free to discuss in the H&H thread.
