holy pelvic pain batman!

Okay, this has been a crazy week for me. 36 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden everything is starting to ache, itch, and cause me pain.

For the past 2 days, I have been having some serious pelvis pain. It started over the weekend when we were walking through the park. I told my dh that I was having a "strange vaginal experience"...I kid you not - it felt like the baby was in my vagina! It felt like everything had just spread apart really far and shifted in this really weird way. I swear, i couldnt' even walk without holding my yoni and doing this hilarious waddle (it's funny now but wasn't then!). After about 10 minutes of this, the "strange vaginal experience" feeling went away and i was left feeling really achy.

Since then, my pelvis/groin (mostly on my left side) has been super sore. Like, the "hard to walk around" kind of sore. Anyone have any ideas for relief?

Sorry you are hurting!!!

I actually had the pain you described for about one to two weeks when I was about 33-34 weeks. I couldn't even lift my leg to put on my pants without gasping with pain; the stairs were a nightmare....and there was no way I could turn around in my bed without having major shooting pains in my pelvis.

A friend recommended I borrow her pregnancy support belt and it made ALL the difference. I wore it nonstop for about four days (even at night) and the pain was 95% better. Then, the pain just went away. I am pain free now and I'm at 37 weeks! I was so depressed that I was going to have to deal with that pain for the duration of my pregnancy. I'm not sure why it went away completely...but I do know that the support belt helped so much with the pelvic/round ligament pain.

Hope this helps and you can find some relief. Oh, my friend got her belt (it is one of those stretchy velcro things) at Target. I've also seen them for about $30 at Babies R Us.

Good luck and feel better soon!

Birth

I hit 35 weeks and it has been downhill from there. I am just glad it stayed away until now!

No kidding! Mine started quite awhile ago, and I still have pelvic pain pretty much every night & often during the day when I walk, too. It feels like her skull is *right there* on my pubic bone (probably is). It just feels like bones rubbing together. *eek*

Yeah, lots of pelvic pain and pressure. I'm to the point that when I stand up after sitting or laying down for awhile (especially in the morning), I have to do it very slowly and stand there for a minute to "warm things up" before I even try to walk, or I will either fall, or be in tears from the pain.

You've got lots of company. Night time is the worst for me. It'll be over soon!

Not in your DDC, but for the last 4 weeks I've been dealing with pelvic pain (more specifically, pubic pain). This article was helpful, and I found relief from the webster method at the chiro, plus cutting back on stretching (like with sitting in a squat position). It's flared up again, so I may consider the pregnancy belt that someone mentioned above. I'm 28 weeks, so I'm not going to be done with it anytime soon . I hadn't been sleeping with a rolled up towel between my legs for the last week or so; maybe that is bringing it back. So I've resumed the towel.

Yep, mine is so bad that I just want to cry, I feel as though everything is going to fall out or explode! The pain is very intense to say the least!

I've been experiencing this sort of thing too. With my first it was constant through the whole 3rd trimester, I didn't have it at all with my second, and this time it comes and it goes.

For me getting in the water helps a lot. I try to get in the swimming pool, even if its just splashing with the kids, at least once a week- and preferably two or three times. It gives me amazing relief for days. Of course I had to buy a swimming suit top three sizes too big to try to fit over my belly- and my belly still sticks out- but I can stand the embarassment of having people stare at me in exchange for the relief.

I had this exact pain starting at about 24 weeks. I self diagnosed it as SPD. Someone on here recommended a book and I found doing the exercises mentioned helped a ton. It's called "Relieving Pelvic Pain During and After Pregnancy: How Women Can Heal Chronic Pelvic Instability" by Cecile Rost. I noticed a vast improvement within 48 hours.
